I have a problem: Impulse buying and the Shield 9mm

    Thanks for the chime.

Melonite, in my experience, is really no different than tenifer. I have Glocks and the M&P Sport, either with many thousands of rounds through them. Neither are worn any more than the other, and the AR sees more use and assembly/disassembly. I feel either treatment is sublime.

As for the PPS: I've held, dry fired, but never shot one. I do not like them, and I don't see them as a front runner in the single stack market. The bore axis is high, it feels blocky, and has a less audible reset than the Shield or Kahr. While not a bad trigger, IMO not as crisp as the two aforementioned pistols. Also, I don't dig the flipper mag release.

Plus, was a considerable amount more for it than either Shield or say, PM9. At near $600, I'm in the ballpark of compact frame, double stack guns. At $449, I can't honestly think of, heard of, or have read about why the purchase isn't justifiable. Compared to Kahr, whose been in the ultra compact market makes what others are compared to. The Shield is on par and has a slightly longer sight radius, but I'm just not a fan of the PPS. I'm glad you enjoy yours, though.

Yeah, they are all over. They are still selling AR's @ normal prices too. I think They got 5 or 6 in this morning while I was browsing today...

Hmmm...still has ARs at normal price...

    You have one nearby...

    Sounds like rubbing it in!

LOL, about a mile. I'm there alot. To get an AR you have to get there early. People line up before the store even opens to grab them..

You made the right choice. I like my glocks, but I LOVE my shield!

I bought a Shield, an XDs and a PM9 all within a two week period. The shield was nice, but it was the first one sold. The XDs is a little nicer, it is sold and being delivered to its new owner on Sunday. The PM9 will be sticking around. :D

I wish Sig made a polymer framed 239. Oh, by the way, if you have not tried Talon grips, do so. They make a world of difference.

Its only a "problem" if your taking food off the table.. Otherwise its perfectly acceptable to buy right there and now or it may not be there when you return.

I too enjoy a good Glock, but I've had several opportunities to pick this lil guy up and passed. Next you know, can't find one.

It's the luckiest visit I've had to the LGS in a year.

It's on layaway. It's not going anywhere. I like your reasoning though, however my fiancé hates it!

I'm getting the gun, Talon grips, and XS Big Dots all at same time.

    Now, about that ammo...

    Congrats on your purchase, exciting.

I do not like ANY XD, s or otherwise. I am a staunch advocate of the lowest possible bore axis, and that grip safeties belong on 1911, and even then I still don't care for them. Many of my companions own XDs in one form or another. They like em just fine.

PM9s are indeed very nice. I will own another one day.

I did look at Talons, and think ill be getting the Rubber ones for sure.

What accuracy are you owners having at longer ranges,m10-25 yards?

My LGS owner thought I was stupid for asking what used Shields go for; his reaction: "What used Shield?"

Congrats, I'm a big fan of mine. I really wanted a single stack 9mm for my CCW. Nice trigger out of the box.

Cool, I'm glad you're a fan. What accuracy are you getting?

The Talons are on the way, well before the gun gets here.

I don't typically shoot my ccw out to 25 yards, but it's as accurate as any other pistol I own. I just ordered a Pachmayr grip glove, so I'm thinking that will enhance the grip a bit.

Cool. I ordered the Rubber Talon grips.

They'll be here before the gun.

    How's your double tap?
