If you could own only 1 revolver (new production) + Ruger LCR what would it be?

Lets pretend all past revolvers disappear off of the face of the planet sparing only the Ruger LCR's. There's a quota in place and you can only buy one new 2010 production revolver. What would you choose and why?

Also, feel free to list your current (/past) arsenal to fluff your firearm credibility feathers.

The reason for this question is simple. A small revolver such as the Ruger LCR or the Smith & Wesson 360PD are great for concealed carry. I will own one of those soon. Given that I'm curious what other revolver you would own if you were in my position.

Off the top of my head it would be a .357 magnum 8-shot S&W Model 627 with a 5" barrel.

It has the versatility of a .38/.357 ammo, a fairly high capacity, a full moon clip reload, it's not too heavy and is carryable with not too much effort.

Fortunately, I do not have to make that choice, so will keep what I have.

I do not want any current PRODUCTION guns.

I'd take if i had to one of the S&W J frames they are making without the lock...

But much prefer the older, better quality ones.

If I already own a LCR and can get one more revolver, it would be a GP100 in .357 with a 6" barrel.

If I can only own one revolver period, SP101 in .357 with a 3" barrel.

I'm with Nomad but I would include the LCR too. Sorry but they (the LCR) may take the award for UGLY! Your scenario would make me strictly a semi auto owner...as soon as I sold or traded away the LCR.

Wouldn't that leave only the Ruger LCR? :scrutiny:

Assuming it has to be a brand new 2010 or newer model, Ruger SP101. Solid, made of STEEL and not plastic, and reliable. I have absolutely no interest in an LCR.

If I could still own and carry an auto pistol I wouldn't even bother with the LCR at all.

If I were limited to only one revolver and autos were still able to be owned I would go for a Freedom Arms Model 83 in .454 Casull, with a spare cylinder in .45ACP, specifically a 7.5" octagonal barrel premier grade with a lanyard loop installed on the butt and all the front sight styles offered in the heights I would need. Add a scope mount, and a mount for a Trijicon RMR too.

If it were a situation where I was limited to only one revolver plus an LCR (no idea why that would be) and no other handgun of any type I would probably choose a S&W M629 in .44 Magnum of some description with a 4" or 5" barrel preferably a Performance Center version with a good trigger job using all forged and machined parts... even though I know from experience than MIM parts do just fine.

In either case I choose a big bore that can fling a big heavy bullet if needs be from enough barrel to get that bullet up to a reasonable speed. I reload my own ammo, and also have some casting equipment so I could keep a big bore fed with ammo of various power levels to meet my needs.

With an LCR, I would choose a nice, older model K22. I have fallen in love with my model 17.

That "production" part stumps me a bit also...I'd prolly take my S&W Pro-60 with 3" barrel. My preference for a "one only" handgun (assuming a Ruger LCR also) would be my S&W 65 with 3" barrel...

Lets pretend that all lcr's would just disappear,
Then you would have to buy one that looked good.:neener:
    I would buy a S&W 686 in 4 inch, Then I would be

    Either a GP100 or 686

    Although a S&W Model 25 ...

Hmmm now I can't decide. How about one of each. :D
