Is this normal for a CZ-75 ?

I just bought a CZ-75B in very good condition (Turkish military overrun, though) for $270.

I chambered a snap cap to dry-fire it. Looking into the ejection port, I can see part of the case...is this normal?

I tried it with my 'Pre-B' CZ75 and I couldn't see any part of the snap-cap.

There is a gap there, but it is very small, -- less than a millimeter. I can't tell by your picture if it is wider than normal or not. It dosn't look like it, but I just can't tell.
It is that way on both my CZ 75 SA and my 85 Combat.

FWIW. If I chamber a round in my 75B (Turk - mil overrun poly finish) it looks pretty much the same way. I can see part of the case. Not as much though as what your's appears to show.

I'd CAREFULLY load a real round and check it before doing anything else. If a real round doesn't show that much case, I wouldn't sweat it.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I can see only a tiny slice of the case (slightly less than a mm), so I suppose it's all right.

I'm not really in a place whare I can check my 75 right now, but that gap does look a little big to me. Might want to check the over all lengenth (OAL) of the snap cap against a real round that was factory loaded from a reputable ammo manufacturer. It could be that your snapcap is out of spec. Also, check the condition of the lugs on the bbl and the groves inside the slide to make sure they are clean. If they aren't, it might not be locking up completly. (I am assuming that this is a used gun by the price. NICE price by the way. You won't be disapointed.) As someone else said, check with the CZ Forum. Also, you might want to send an email to Mike at CZ-USA. He is the master gunsmith for CZ and knows them inside and out. Check on the CZ website for his email address and send him the pic.

Calhoun, do you happen to have an email address for Mike at CZ-USA? I've emailed them on a couple of items through their website, but I have yet to hear anything back from them. I've gotten the idea from a couple of different forums that Mike is the go to guy there, but have yet to see his email.

Hey I just checked my 75B and my 75 P-01. Both have a gap. The 75B is a bit bigger than the P-01. Mine looks just like yours though. I wouldn't sweat it.

It looks like the "gap" is on many people's CZs. What could be its purpose? Certainly seems simpler to make it solid steel all the way around.
