Well, it seems that my recent views about people wanting me to join the military has gotten me banned at a site I really loved and stirred up a bit of controversy here at THR. I know this isn't gun related, but I feel it needs to be said. I am truly sorry for offending anyone who has served or is serving or going to serve. From now on if I see any military type of threads and feel the need to post in them I will salute them and thank them for their services. It's men and women like them who allow me to sleep well at night knowing that this great country has freedom.

I guess I don't understand "banned". How are you able to post and to continue posting? I must be missing something.

I don't remember reading anything of yours, but if you were slamming the men and women who are willing to risk their lives for us, then you should be banned.

No, I wasn't banned here. It was at rimfirecentral. I wasn't bad mouthing anyone in the military. All I said was that I didn't want to join and gave my reasons. I never once said I didn't respect anyone serving. I just didn't like the idea of retired military folks thinking that joining the military should be a mandetory thing.

I'm sorry, what makes posting the reasons why he doesn't want to join the military trolling? Irrelevant maybe, but not trolling.

Some people don't know the real definition of an "internet troll". Not knowing the real definition can/will cause lots of problems with online social life. To put it simple, a "troll" is someone who joins a site with no intention of being a part of the community. Just joins to cause problems. A good example would be if say I joined a hunter site and was a PETA supporter and all I did was join the site just to say hunting was stupid and meaningless slaughter or something like that. Then I would definatly be a troll. Voiceing my oppinions is NOT trolling. That's what makes this country great is that we have freedom of speech. If you disagree with someone then that's ok, but calling them something they're not such as a troll is just not right.

And what makes internet forums great is that they're privately run, and that speech can be regulated as the owner/mods see fit. If you got banned on another site, why come here to air the issue further?

This issue was already here at this site before I was banned at the other site. Being banned was just the final straw and I figured I would let everyone know here that i'm closing the issue at hand.

Sorry you got banned from Rimfirecentral, they have some of the best info on rimfires around the net. You could have used them as a great reference, now it is tough to get your question asked because you cannot post. My suggestion to most noobs is to sit and listen, ask questions related to the site and learn what the site is about before you start voicing opinions. This site is an extension of Oleg's "property" and he has every right to limit what he wants to hear. He is not stepping on your freedom of speech, he is excercising his right to what he wants to hear.
I am not sure that you would make it in the military right now, you have a little maturing to do

Just drop the issue already, get on with life...we all have more important things to spend our valuable time with.
