I've used a 10" T/C Contender barrel in .223 to take a few hogs, and obviously it works just as well in a 10.5" AR. Congrats on the hog.

Bullet construction and placement is all that matters. Plenty of pigs have been killed with a .22lr. The .223 is plenty more powerful and the AR gives you plenty of follow up shots if you don't put him down with one shot. I love the AR for hunting. Good work. If I had hogs around here I would probably go with a short barrel 6.8. But, here I use a longer barrel 6.5 grendel for deer.

That's it? Your whole story is that you killed a hog with a 10.5" barrel AR15? You have given no meaning to your scant details and images. I don't think anyone has ever doubted that a 10.5 AR15 could kill.

Were you hunting or did you kill Wilbur? What ammo were you using? Shot placement? Distance? Day or night? Did it run and if so, how far? How many shots?

Congrats on the hog. Do that about two million more times and the farmers and ranchers will thank you :).

Did you already eat that hog's right rear leg.....where is it? :D

Good job, one less pesky hog.

i was driving the polaris and saw the brush moving. drove up a little and spooked the hog. it ran across the trail and tried to escape, but i lit it up w/ flashlight and double tapped w/ m193. only one hit above the back legs and took about 10 minutes to find 20yds away from where it was shot.

the owner of the land said we could kill any hogs we find. found it on the last day of the hunt at about 6am.

    Nice job Yong.;)

That xm193 has proven itself for me on hogs out of my 16" 7615.
    Puts them down real quick.
