Looking for a sub compact 9mm

Don't write off the P11.
Not much lighter, in production over 10 years so it's proven.
Quite accurate. 12 round magazine, and can use 15-rnd S&W 59XX mags.
Mine is hard chrome slide over navy blue grip frame.
$275 or less brand new, lifetime warranty

The Walther PPS is a superb pistol and definitely warrants a look, if not outright consideration. Good luck in your hunt.

Are you looking for belt carry or pocket carry? For pocket carry, I like my Kahr PM9. For belt carry, you could consider the Kahr K9. No, neither will meet your 8 round requirement.

100%

...

Can't say enough about dependability, reliability, and accuracy, out of NIB of my SA EMP SAO 1911 9mm.. Comes with wood grips, night sights, 3 mags, with a load of 9+1..

124gr JHP's, are my choice with her, and she has gone some 3400 flawless rounds to-date.

Worth the money invested IMO, along with, being just a joy to shoot, and share with range buddy's whose eyes always go :what: after they handle it and shoot it..

Look into the S&W 908 or 3913. Both are single stack DA 9mm. Both have sterling reputations for dependability with anything you put in them. Highly recommended.

Subcompact 9mm?

I use my CS9 for that role.

Reliability?

I used the reliability of my CS9 as the benchmark against which I measured the reliability of my then-new G26. The G26 almost meets the standard. ;)

The only problem is that S&W recently discontinued the CS9 (and CS45) from its commercial product catalog, restricting it to LE order/production, although they can still be found, at least for a while.

Being a TDA (traditional double action, or DA/SA if you prefer), not everyone may find them to their liking as far as trigger design/function is concerned.

These things are rather subjective, though, and different folks have different desires and preferences.

I've got an XD 9 sub-compact that I have with me pretty much at all times.

It has had no failures of any kind since I got it. It's still fairly new, however, with a little over 500 rounds through it. It's plenty accurate out to about 10 yards, past that and the groups really open up.

It has had no issues with any JHP's I've put through it. It currently has the +P version of the 147gr Ranger Bonded JHP's: RA9B/Q4364 is the non +P designation.

Subcompat and 8-round mags don't go together in my book. Kahr PM9 would be my choice, carried with a 6-round mag, with a 7 or 8 round spare.

P 11 is staggered mag. but still only 1 inch wide. I'll go with it works over elegance. 10+1 in a 1 pound package.

Kahr PM9 with one in the pipe 7 rounds. Thats enough for me. Best pocket rocket I ever carried..

I highly recommend the S&W M&Pc. They are not the smallest sub compacts, but they are as reliable as Glocks yet more comfortable. And have better sights.

I've given up the idea of pocket carry for a few reasons. My jean pockets are too small and you have to sacrifice too much in performance with the true pocket sub-calibers.

Sorry, but in this arena the Glock 26 rules IMHO. You can always get the extensions for the mag baseplate if grip is a problem.

I recommend the Sig P239 9mm. Very reliable, accurate, and well designed pistol. I've put over 20k rounds through mine without a single malfunction and it shoots better than a lot of compact pistols.

If the G 26 is out, try a S&W Chief Special. I don't have any first hand knowledge of the gun, but since it's a slightly smaller cousin to the 3913 and 908. Both are primo compacts and I don't expect a CS9 would disappoint.

I've extensively shot a PF9 and P11, and owned an M&P 9c and a Kahr CW9. I've had no malfunctions in any of these pistols.

The Kahr was easiest to carry and easiest to shoot well (for me).

I had a PF9 and also a P11 and now own a K9 and PM9 and I completely agree that the Kahrs are far superior, but if funds are limited, the KelTecs will do the job.
