Lost a Mosin Nagant action screw---size? Help!

For some reason unknown to me, I misplaced the screw that holds the trigger spring/sear in place and I can't find it. The other action screws are the same size and appear to be a M6.5-0.8x10 or 12mm. Is this right? A M6 is too small and a M7 is too large.

Should I just drill and tap the hole for another machine screw in a more common size like M8-0.8 or 1/4-28 or something? Where could I buy a replacement screw? I've looked online so far with no luck.
