Well, that's a mighty ambitious goal considering that CMP has been running out of the finite supply of Garands that existed. As crazy-mp pointed out, you can't just order several Garands from CMP. You have to qualify to purchase.
Century made a bunch up out of parts and nasty cast receivers. You could probably find several of those.

How much money do you have to spend? Springfield Armory M1 Garands cost around a thousand dollars each. You probably already know this though.

The CMP is the best route.
Springfield Inc (no relation to the former USGI arsenal) made reproductions for a while, but not anymore.

I love the rifles that the CMP sent me.
Qualifying for a CMP purchase requires you to:
1) Compete in a CMP sanctioned match (provide proof)
2) Belong to a range that sanctions matches.
3) Provide notarized proof of who you are.
4) Provide your states firearms purchace permit or CCW permit.
It's a good excuse to join a range and to start shooting matches.

No manufacturer still produces the M1 Garand, but one does make a copy of an M1 Garand.
How much money do you have? I have 9 or ten of them in various configurations - historically correct, rebarreled and accurized - .762x51 or .30-06, restocked original appearance or fancy grade walnut, CMP all correct, CMP service and rack grades.
Want them all?
Here's a picture with a half dozen, and a closer picture of the fancy wood gun. I don't think I've ever taken a photo with all of them together like a family get together, and it would be all holy hell of a lot of work for me to do so so you'll just have to take my word that none are worse than these, and not better either. It's almost a 'seen one seen em all' sort of thing about Garands.

I ordered my first M1 (service grade Springfield) from CMP about a month ago, I probably won’t see it for another 2 months. Prepare to wait if you want to go that route.

This came from the CMP today:
ORDER BACKLOG. Normally, we average receiving 2,000 - 3,000 sales orders per month and ship an order in 2-3 weeks. However, these are not normal times. Since October, 2008 we have been receiving 5,000 - 10,000 orders per month, which is several times normal. As a result, we are very backlogged and running several weeks behind on processing orders. Our staff is working up to 12 hours per day 7 days a week, and only today finished the 4,000 orders we received on 1 December alone (except for those 1 Dec orders with credit card or other problems). Customers with outstanding orders should expect orders to ship approximately 100 days from the date the order was received by CMP. We expect to recover from this surge in another 3-4 months (assuming the number of orders being received drops somewhat).

Dang I also recently ordered from CMP but haven't received a letter or anything, do they tell you they've received your order form and other paperwork or is it just a waiting game? It's been a couple weeks

It depends on how you order if they confirm it. If it's by their e-store they confirm right away. By mail not so.

Get one from the CMP if you can. Otherwise go to the local fun stores and shows they usually show up there. Cabelas always seems to have a decent selection but you will pay more.
Got mine a while ago at a show...It's been rebarreled to 308 with a new Wenig Laminated Stock reparked NM sights Trigger Job etc...on a 1943 Springfield that has poor bbl and cracked stock. Great rifle Now.

CMP, qualify, go Anniston or Camp Perry, pick out Garand goodness. Go home, strip, clean, and enjoy!

Don't worry about the CMP delay. The anticipation just makes the day the FedEx truck rolls up that much sweeter. 
Spend the time finding a sling and buttstock cleaning kit.
Also, be sure to order HXP surplus ammo from CMP, as the M1 is not designed for commercial loads. Get the 192 round can the first time. It's loaded on enbloc clips. Save the clips as you shoot, and get the 240 rd. cans from then on, load it on your clips.
90 days, 100, days, it's well worth the wait.

Pretty, isn't it? I was looking at Boyd's site and noticed the stock was in their 'rejects' (I don't think they call it that but don't remember what they call the section of their inventory where pieces or whole stocks are sold that were ordered but not bought, returned, or whatever). They had the stock and I called them and got them to agree to do their best to send me handguard pieces that were of the same graining or near as possible. So I decided to make one that was like a presentation grade. The rifle is a lot better in hand than it looks here in my crappy photos.
But you know something? I finished the rifle, and it's a .308/7.62 Fulton barreled accurate build as best I knew how to do - a real labor of love with all new Fulton pieces just so the metal finish would match (Clint makes everything pretty dark, like black) , and I don't like it all that much.
When it was done it just didn't seem like a military rifle any more.
My personal favorite is the one above it - also accurized, also Fulton Armory barreled but .30-06.
That one is just about perfect to me and of all that I have it'd be the keeper if the rest had to go. It will fire 1" groups, MOA, with almost no change when it heats up. I was knocking out high scores before Kaiser Permanente changed out a cataract in my dominant eye making me iron sight impaired - (you don't want me on THAT subject). That includes a fully correct not restored 1943 SA that I haven't even SEEN in about two years because I've got it buried so deep. That one isn't in the photo.

BTW, the top four of those rifles in my photo are wearing 'service grade' wood as received from CMP, with some spirit staining to make them match closer, and good old hand rubbed boiled linseed oil finishes.
When I was building Garands the palm of my left hand used to look like boiled lobster.
When I was in basic I had the best looking M14 in the platoon, so this stuff comes almost naturally I guess - call me linseed, not hayseed..
