Most reliable 9mm carry pistol?

The M&P jammed several times with different mags with excellent care. There is a consistency of malfunctions across different magazines. Using the same care and ammunition, my Beretta PX4 has been crushingly superior and flawless.

Well, my M&P has yet to fail even once, and I've put over 1000 rounds through it and counting. There are plenty of others with similar experiences, as well as a small minority who've had issues in the beginning. Give Smith & Wesson a chance to make things right--their customer service is first-rate.

I'm starting to not bother with anything beyond Glock and Beretta when it comes to reliability.

You must have heard about a number of problems with Beretta pistols in the US military (e.g. broken slides smacking people in the face), and I know a guy whose new Glock has several failures to feed with every magazine he's tried (that's several failures for EACH magazine load). I guess they're no good just like S&W, and manufacturers such as HK and SIG don't even rate consideration? Come on, not every pistol is perfect out of the box for any manufacturer.

The M&P has a good trigger and grip, but fails in the most important respect.

YOUR M&P fails, yes, but maybe it can be fixed. The basic design is very sound, and S&W has an excellent track record for customer service.

My Glock 19 has been solid. My Glock 17 has been solid. The M&P 9mm I had was not as solid. My Kahr MK9 has been great, it had one ftf during the break-in and no problems since.

Kahr PM9 for pocket carry

But, only after the required number of rounds are fired to break in the pistol. Light weight, small size, accurate and reliable. IWB carry you have many choices. My favorites are Walther PPS, XD9sc or Beretta PX4sc

For me, its an Exeter, NH made P226 9mm. 10 years old, no ugly rails or terrible laser etched #s. Hogue grips with the finger grooves in the front. I cant make it jam. I usually hit low left, but the groups are all so tight the holes in the paper target are connected. Some day I will find a sight pusher and dial it in a little, but as for reliability, I would never give up this gun. It seems to be as reliable as my revolvers. I also have an old G22 with no rails and dead night sights, it never misses a beat, Im just too lazy so i use the Sig. I dont want to start an ammo debate but i use Win. SXT 147 grain, low recoil and supreme accuracy.

I don't know what the most reliable is, but my CZ P-01 has never malfunctioned, in any way, in several years of being shot regularly.

+1 on the CZ PO-1.
I just recently picked one of these up and have put several different brands and styles of ammo thru it and it just goes bang every time the trigger is pulled....I guess I'm up over a 1000 rounds thru it now. I cannot recall it ever failing to shoot or jam. Its a sweet pistol and fun to shoot. Not sure if its the "most reliable", but it sure does what it is supposed to....over and over.

All mine are reliable, 5906,3913, CW9 and 2022. I tend to take the CW9 for carry and the 2022 for accurracy and the S&W's for plinking!!

Although it might be a tad biggish( depending on your size) for carry, I'll throw in with the rest for a Sig p226. Bought mine in '95, and it has been flawless. My Hk p7 psp that I got in October is running like a champ also. Good luck!

I have a CZ P-01 and a Kahr E-9 that have never had a malfunction of any kind.
I just bought a Kel-Tec PF-9 that I tried at the range right out of the box with 100 rnds which also ran perfect and it's more accurate that a $275 gun should be.

I am partial to the SIG P228. To this day I do not understand why they quit selling them here in the States(although I did hear about a limited run of P228's earlier this year). Quite possibly the most balanced SIG ever designed.
