Recently bought a NAA Black Widow .22 mag. I was wondering if anyone has changed their factory grips? I see NAA offers a couple of other choices and just wondering if anyone has changed their's. The factory grips are good . nice grip, but always like to experiment. Thanks for your reply's. :)

Well, I've seen extensive praise for the slip-on Hogue grips offered by NAA (They're on sale this month, too!). The only negative re: these grips? They tend to crack/split if taken off & replaced very often.

I've tried the "standard" wood grips (as offered on the "mini-magnums"), trimmed & shaped oversized wood grips, and the small, checkered rubber bird's head grips. After all that, I carry the oversized rubber BW grips on mine. I find no decrease in concealibility, and they offer better shooting & manipulation.

    Just my opinion.

    Black Widow Grips

I purchased my Black Widow back when they were shipped with the oversized rubber grips with BW emblem (1993). Several years ago I experimented with the new smaller NAA BW Rubber grips and the NAA Rosewood grips but went back to the original large grips. The NAA Rosewood grips look nice, but unless they have changed the design, they slip out of alignment with one another after 15 or 20 rounds. :cuss: The reason for this is they do not have a pin inside at the top like the rubber grips to keep the grips from rotating. The movement is not much, but the problem is one side will slip out of alignment with the other side and is very noticeable.

On a side note, the "Original" Oversize rubber grips as shipped on the BW & MM back in the 1990's are a different design and larger than the "new" oversized grips shipped on current BW & MM frames and are no longer available from NAA. :(

I have always like the way the slim checkered hard rubber grips felt on the NAA magnum frame. It's very easy for me to draw from a jeans pocket and points very naturally for me.

However I have discovered that most people prefer grips a little thicker than the hard rubber but slightly slimmer than the standard wooden grips.

The large Black Widow grips feel good in my hand but don't enable as smooth a draw. For me anyway.

But grips and the way a gun feels is a very personal matter.

I have to confess this- My wife put pink grips on her NAA Black widow. She just loves the color - even has baggage in pink.
