Wow. Is this the new norm for prices?

No, the new norm is much higher than those prices from Natchez and Midway.

They both sold out so quickly because it was priced below the norm.

    Holy crap!

It was still available at Midway. Nearly bought a 400rd brick, until I saw the shipping and handling was almost $22 ($43 total)! I love Fed Am, because between price point, accuracy, and feeding, I've found it to be the best fodder for all my .22's. But, I don't love it that much.

I'll wait until it is available locally.

Shipping is high but whats been most frustrating to me is for example Cabelas had 500rd boxes for 21 dollars limit of 1 per day but didn't have any low priced 9mm or 45. It's been really hard to find one retailer with everything I'm looking for and thats the only thing that justifies the shipping.

No .22 to be found at Cabela's in North Texas today. But did score two boxes at Academy.

I was thinking about getting a 500 round box of thunderbolts. But you are limited to one box and it was $20 to sjip. My LGS gets them in once and while and they are cheaper.

well, maybe my kids are right. maybe we SHOULD sell off all of our rimfire guns. we can shoot centerfire cheaper. plus, none of us have been able to shoot them for over a year. there has been ZERO 22lr ammo in our neck of the woods for over a year, at any price, in any store or gun shop. i hate very few things in life. but this bull ship about ammunition is by far, the thing i hate the most.

It hasn't "been over a year."

At worst, it started (again) following his reelection, tho I couldn't spot any significant change this time, unlike 2008.

But the days that followed Sandy Hook event December 14th, THAT'S when it started....so it's less than a year at this point.

But I hear and share your frustration.

I still have .22lr ammo, but still don't have time to go shoot it :(
