You might also sample Berry fully plated 158gr SWC and achieve the same result.

I think if he is driving them hard enough to need gas checks, plated bullets won't stand that much velocity.

They supposedly top out at 1,200 FPS, and you can do that easily with cast bullets without gas checks.

How hard is hard enough to need gas checks? I wouldn't be surprised if I was exceeding 1600fps on my 357 loads (15g of 2400) out of my Rossi 92 and I just use 158g LSWC and they work fine.

Cast up a mixture of wheel weights with some lino mixed in. That should get them hard enough for whatever you need.
