Ok I know another gun safe thread. I've done a search on here and other sites but I'm still unsure on which safe to buy. I was going to get (I already ordered it but could still cancel) a Liberty Centurion 30 it is 1299 at Costco.com that with delivery into my house. Then I was thinking and reading and now I'n unsure I'm thinking about upgrading to the Liberty's lincoln series which Costco.com also sold (they call it the premier but I checked the specs on Libery's web site and it's the same)This safe is $2699.99 for a slightly bigger safe than the Centurion. Now I should say it will be placed in my basement and I have a monitered alarm system with a fire/smoke alarm senser and I only live a couple miles from fire dept. Plus I have 3 dogs taht watch the house pretty well. Should I spend another $1400?

If I was going to spend that much id buy 2 of these instead of the highest cost one you posted....

They are taller and between the 2 you have much more room and for less money.

I thought of that but then I'm still in the same situation as that one is the same protection as the cheaper of the two I chose.

You may want to check this thread out...beware the mega store safes.

I know I read about this but these safes are the same you could buy from a Liberty dealer si it's not some name I've never heard of.

Rich0372;

I'll tell you this, the $2,699.00 is so close to real safe territory, I'd certainly check out the possibility of wanting to go from RSC to true safe. That's going from a formed sheet metal body to plate steel. From very suspect fire ratings to 1700f/1 hr. as per U.L. test procedures. Mid 3's gets you the real deal, not a high strength bugling elk decal and nicer mill closeout shag carpet in the interior with an upgrade RSC.

CB900F your right the more I search the more I realize $2699 is a ripoff for that safe it only has 11 guage steel. I found a safe with 10 gauge steel and a 1/4" steel door with an hour fire rating, that's bigger than that safe for about half the price plus shipping. Then I found a "real" safe same size for around $3000-3500 range

From the last post it sounds like you have looked at some of the threads that CB900F and A1ABDJ have used to educate consumers like us. I'm saving my pennies for a "real" safe instead of a big box ripoff.
