I just ordered a PGW Coyote from Ross at PGWDTI and it will take a few weeks before I'll take delivery. While I'm waiting for the rifle to be delivered I thought that I'd check to see if I could find a good starting recipe. The rifle is reamed for 308 M852 Match.

The VAST majority of my shooting will be at my club which is limited to 300m but eventually I would like to stretch her legs out to 800 - 1,200m.

So to begin with, what recipes (brass, primers, powders, bullets) would you recommend for 300m.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd just go with a quality 150gr non-BT. A boat tail is only beneficial past 300 yards, accelerates throat erosion and costs more.
    Anyway, keep us posted.

First, M852 Match ammo uses a Sierra 168gr MatchKing bullet. Duplicating this ammo is easy, BUT, while it is good out to about 600 yards, the 168SMK bullet is not a LR bullet, so forget about shooting 800 - 1,200 meters with a M852 type of load. For LR shooting, I would suggest using either the 155gr Lapua Scenar or the 175gr Sierra MatchKing bullet.

Does anyone know the powder recipe for M852?

The tried and true load using a 168gr BTHP bullet in LC or equivalent military brass is 41.5gr of IMR4895.
