Short guns with corners on the front end have a tendency to settle those corners into a spot and dig their own little nest. After three-four long days, the nest can feel like a boil. A rig with extra leather at that end, not boned to the corner, but with a more rounded wrap, is a boon to mankind which will make posteriors grateful to you for posterity. Don't trim too much too soon.
