OK, the rules are like last years 07 prediction thread!
Keep it gun related and high road.

We win a narrow decision in the Supreme Court that opens the door for all kinds of fun, including nationwide reciprocity.

The Republican candidate gives lip service to the RKBA but ignores it after elected.

Joe Horn cleared by Jan 15, 08 but we argue about it to 09.

Skunkabilly makes annual appearance and no one recognizes him & Standing Wolf becomes a mod, causing liberals to be mysteriously banned.

Gun Free Zones in churches will become a thing of the past.

A: Ron Paul wins, we keep what few gun rights we have left, and he keeps the issue a central point of debate in mainstream politics.

B: Any other (R) wins after paying lip-service to the RKBA, then ignores it while in office.

C: Any (D) wins and he/she signs the new Adequate Magazine Ban. In 2010 the Dems lose Congess.

    if Ron won

Couldn't he undo a lot of damage by simple executive orders and pardons?

2008 won't be that much different than 2007.

There may be new faces/characters, but the show will be the same, and the U.S. as well as the rest of the world will continue along the same old path it's been on for quite some time now.

In other words, expect it to be "Business As Usual", with some gains, offset by some losses.

I suspect Mike Huckabee will come out of nowhere and get the nomination. He then becomes POTUS. After which he bans all religions except for Christianity. He then forces a Christian theocracy upon our country and we can only dream of freedom as they oppress us with their biblical based knowledge. He then bans guns for non-Christians.

If Fred THompson gets the nomination we will face the same fate but it will be more in the lines of traditional fascism. We will lose the rest of our rights slowly but surely. Religion will not play as big a part in his potential destruction of our country.

A democrat wins and the country actually does well as they pull us out of Iraq and we lose our 2nd Amendment rights. However gay rights are recognized and a womens right to choose is protected. But gun owners are screwed.

Ron Paul wins and the 2nd Amendment is protected along with the rest of the bill of rights. We actually get national reciprocity and many other unconstitutional laws are reaapealed during his 2nd term as president. The war in Iraq ends and we leave them be. Our current administration is tried as war criminals and punished for their crimes against humanity. The GOP changes for the better and we revert back to a mindset like those of the founding fathers. The 2nd amendment goes unquestioned and is no longer infringed.
Hey... a guy can dream, right?

If Mike Huckabee becomes president both your guns and your religion is safe.

Huckabee is a REAL hunter who just doesn't pick up guns around election years. He is the only candidate in the Top 5 who will protect our guns. Giuliani and Romney don't have our interests anywhere near their hearts.

Predictions? Republican edges out Clinton for the win. Gun control gets victory in Supreme Court. Nationally gun control is ignored for the next 4 years, while states enact their own laws and generally improve in about 40 of the states, while California and Illinois still crap over all gun owners.

......All good Christians have nothing to fear!!!!

    1) Whichever Dumbocrit wins the hypocritic...woops! I mean Democratic nomination will win the presidency. They will try to screw us out of 2A rights, but it won't happen because....

    2) SCOTUS will decide D.C. vs. Heller in favor of gun owners, opening the door for a trend towards less gun control and record numbers of concealed weapon carriers because......

    3) more killings in "Gun Free Zones" start to open people's eyes to the benefits of being armed no matter how hard the liberal media tries to hide it.

    4) With the increase in firearms freedom, we will see a resulting bump in anti-2A activism such as the Brady Bunch pulling some hyjinks or demonstrations in order to boost their visiblity. They will eventually GO COMPLETELY BERSERK when........

    5) the latest assault weapons ban is narrowly defeated due to HARD WORK BY pro-2A SUPPORTERS CONTACTING THEIR LEGISLATORS!!!

Tecumseh, You really hold Christians in high regard.

:scrutiny: If that happened I think I would advocate a revolution and I'm a born again Christian!

By the way I'm not voting for Huckabee...

After a Dem electoral victory, military supporters of Ron Paul stage a coup d'├ętat. Pro 2A citizens rally to the cause.

(Well, you didn't say it had to be a realistic prediction).

Any (R) besides Ron Paul wins and he may as well be a (D).

BTW, it's a major fundraising day at http://www.ronpaul2008.com/. Show the other R's and the MSM which candidate has the juice. Seems their new tactic is to ignore Dr. Paul in the hopes he'll go away. . .

    I agree.

I'm amazed that people really think there is a difference between the parties. Both have screwed us in the past, both will do it again in the future. None of this has anything to do with your rights, or what is right, only with money and power.

    ....and the beat goes on......

    Good predictions:
*DC is decided and the NFA registry is reopened
*Hillary is involved in a "gun free zone" incident, thus realizing her mistakes and becoming a 2A activist
*US shooting team sweeps the olympics
*IRS is abolished with the income tax. America is prosperous again
*USPSA starts to give $100,000 prize per match. I quit my job and get to shoot professionally (yes I'm dreaming on this one ;)
*Hi-cap mags are required with each purchase of any new gun
*M82A1 is overproduced, thus making it sell at $2000 instead of 8k
*The Outdoor channel buys NBC and FOX thus you get to see "Sighting in with shooting USA" on every channel, and the news channels praise people who defend themselves

    Bad predictions:
*Hillary becomes POTUS and is impeached after trying to pass an all-out ban
*UN attempts to tax all countries that don't comply with their gun policy. *Dems pay the UN tax with a new "gun owner tax"
*price of ammo doubles... again ...
*More retards go on shooting sprees causing people to lose their lives and making the whole country look bad (sadly this one is true)
*Media continues to flaunt\praise the shooting spree retards

I didn't click the poll because it needs another selection: "Miraculously RP wins and the 2A is restored to what is should be"....

Dang it! I knew I forgot something!

A lot of my non political friends are asking me who is gonna win, it is still to close to call. I am praying that Hilary continues being her unlikeable self.

I cant see the scotus being in favor of DC, they know they'll be serious consequences.

No, it is "they're" or they are. These things are important.

Hillary wins, Dems control both houses of congress by veto proof and filibuster proof majorities.

Chuck Shumer leaves the Senate to become Attorney General.
Bill is appointed to replace him.

The socialist congress enacts total gun ban with retroactive penalties for possession, no grandfather clause and no amnesty. The bill is enacted on an "emergency" basis to become effective as soon as the President signs it. Hillary signs as soon as it gets to her desk and orders her ATF to begin a nationwide house to house confiscation of guns and round up of owners. All 4473 forms are confiscated from all gunshops, whose owners have been arrested under the new law as illegal weapons dealers. Armed with these, the ATF sets out on their mission!!
Gun owner concentration camps are set up across the country to house the newly declared terrorists per the enhanced Patriot Act.
  17. I'm certain you're joking about this and have misread the thread as silly predictions, but you may wish to be careful as someone might think you are actually serious.

The OP asked for predictions, so that's mine.
Like or not, it is a distinct possibility if the Dems control the entire government!
The historical president is 1920 Russia or 1947 China.
Consider it an ominous warning to apethetic Republican gunowners!!
Oh, and don't forget 1938 Deutschland!!!
  19. Perhaps you aren't using the same definition the rest of us are.
No, not it isn't. Never even in your wettest Red Dawn/Unintended Consequences fantasies. It's just plain silliness. Do you have that little faith in America and the system to honestly think that would occur? Or perhaps you just don't understand how it actually all works?
President? Perhaps you mean precedent? Any comparison between those two and the US in 2008 would be reaching quite a bit. I would be interesting to read it, although I suspect it would require someone with a fairly strong background in history.
A warning is not the same as a prediction, whether someone is apathetic or not.
And there's Godwin, thread over.
