I plan to purchase components for 4 different pistols. 38 spec, 357 mag, 44 spec, and 44 mag. Is there any one powder which will be acceptable for all, and are there primers which will be acceptable for both 38/357 and 44/44. The reason I ask these question, I plan to buy bulk, and want to keep it simple, unless quality is compromized. My shooting is mostly for enjoyment and not hunting or competition shooting. It will be easier to explan to my wife why I bougth 1 can of powder and 2 boxes of primers, than 4 cans of powder and 4 boxes of primers. See my point?

I would go with two powders. One for the non-magnums and one for the magnums. On Primers the same, though many have found that standard primers will work in both. Best bet is to check your load data manual. You DO have a reloading manual, don't you? And. You HAVE read it, right?
I'd rather reload correctly then to please the wife. You might ask her why she has all those cooking gadgets and the many ingredients in the selves and cupboards.

If you must go with one powder, Alliant Unique will cover all four calibers pretty well.
It is my prefered powder in .44 Spl, and I use it to some extent in the three others.
Adding Alliant 2400 would increase performance in both Magnums somewhat.
Both powders do just fine with standard non-magnum primers in any caliber.
Standard Sm Pistol for .38 Spl/.357 and standard Lg Pistol for .44 Spl/.44 Magnum.

How about 2 primers and 2 powders? You will need small pistol for the 38/357 and large pistol for the 44's. You really "should" have 2 powders, 1 for the magnums & 1 for the specials.
Are you buying bulk locally or online? Either way, you can combine powder & primers in one order.

If you must do one powder I'd try Unique or HP38/WW231.

two primers are mandatory since the the brass difference between 38/357 and 44 are different. I would also use two or three different powders.....Bullseye for 38 or Unique, 296 or 110m for 357....something similar for 44 (I don't own any of those)

Bullseye would do surprisingly well in all of those, and it flows well thru powder measures. Unique or Herco will do all of them too, and give you better performance in the Magnums, but they are kind of fluffy and some powder measures don't like them.
Bullseye and Power Pistol would cover everything from light target loads to full-tilt magnums (yes, I know you can go even hotter in the magnums by using 2400, AA#9, 296, or H110) Power Pistol is a slow-burning variant of Bullseye. Stay away from 296 and H110 powders until you know what you are doing; they have very narrow working ranges.
