Looking @ a Colt Series 80 in 9x23 and memory fails me. Can the 9x23 barrel be used w/ .38 Super ammo, or would I be better off just picking up a 2nd barrel?
no .38super is a semi rimmed cartridge, and needs a relief in the chamber for it. However some people have shot 9x23 out of certain .38supers. I hope you get it, as 9x23 is an awesome cartridge, I also hope you reload.
Thanks - I do reload. A 1911 in 9x23 is definitely intriguing for a bunch of reasons. I tried a Delta Elite for awhile (bit of a restoration project that turned out well), but guess .40 anything isn't up my alley.
No issues re the barrels, I'll get a dedicated .38 Super barrel, etc. - will post back if I pick it up.
