Just got home from work and on the porch was a package from Miidway, Knew what was in it dropped my stuff and straight in to the garage to try out my new 3 way cutting head for my trimm pro took less then 5 min to set up and works far better then I ever would have expected. Really works perfect did about 50 cases by hand I attach a cordless drill to my trimmer but it was in the truck and was to excited to go get it. the cutter is so sharp maybe 4 rotations trimmed my L.C. to size , no chamffering, deburring just a perfectly trimmed case.I don't know if i have been using a dull cutter for so long or what but I'm as happy as pig in well you know.
Not often am I this impressed with a tool, I also got a pilot for 223 once i finish the .308 will try that next and let you all know how that works out.
And no I don't work for RCBS kinda wish I did.

    Happy Trimming

Heard nothing but good about those. Wish they worked on my older RCBS trimmer. I'm not buying a new one!

Agreed. I have a 3 way for every rifle round. Great stuff!

I like mine, too. Sure beats chamfering/deburrring every case.

I have had them in several calibers since they came out with them. When I process brass I do all I have of that particular caliber. Might be a hundred or 1500, but the 3-way gets the job done, and I hate not being able to use it. I did 100 .243 cases the other night and don't have that particular one and soon as I got done it went on the order list for my next order. I sure do wished they made them in handgun calibers as well. I don't trim often but when I do those short little cases make it a real pain.

The cool thing about the 3 way is that the pilots are interchangeable. You only need to buy one 3 way and buy the pilots you need. You obviously need to adjust a little between calibers, but the time savings is pretty staggering.

REally? I didn't know that... they make them in all different calibers.

    Have you done it?

I've not actually bought one yet, but this is from long discussions with the reloading guys at my Cabela's. They have actually shown me how to change the pilot. I thought originally it would be pretty daunting, but only took a min or so to do.

This is on my Christmas (or birthday) list and hoping my wife buys me one this year (or I will buy one before I have to trim any more brass).

The pilot actually does the chamfering. The deburing is done by the secondary cutter on the outside. You change the pilot to fit the caliber you are going to trim. RCBS sells additional pilots for only $10.95.

The part is actually called "3-way Pilot / Chamfer" (see web link in my previous post)

In all of the descriptions for this product, it always states the pilot does the chamfering. The modularity of the 3-way is no different than the pilots used when you use the regular out of the box cutter.

That's the beauty of the whole thing. Too bad they just don't sell the 3-way with the kits. Instead you have to buy it separately at $50+ and then buy each pilot separately.
