Can anyone recomend a good book for someone new to rifle handloading? I already handload for my pistols, and would like to start with some rifle loads (8mm, 7.5 Swiss) because the surplus isn't all that cheap.

By book, do you mean reloading manual or a book about reloading?
Most manuals cover reloading in very good detail. My first choise is always Hornady. Hodgdon, Speer and Nosler are also on my shelf and I go to them in that order.

Reloader Reading Matter
THE best primer on reloading of all types is, IMHO, The ABC's of Reloading published by Krause Publishing.
Get it @ yr local sptg gds sto, gun show, the I'net, or order direct www.krause.com
This book is not a loading manual, it is a "how to" and "why or why not do this" sort of book. More detail than a loading manual (basically a recipie book) can go in to on the ins and outs of reloading.

Lyman 48th edition would be a good choice too...

PO Ackley put out a two volume book set. Handbook for Shooters and Reloaders.
Understand, now, that the reloading data in it is relatively OLD, but the information in it is still some of the best to this day.
Certain fella by the name of Roy Weatherby learned as one of Parkers assistants...so this should tell you a little about this man.
And, of course, you have his semi-proprietary line of wildcats...the Ackley Improved series...
