What is a good source for replacement O rings for a Remington 1100 ?

I can't find them at Midway or Brownell's, so I must be looking them up incorrectly.

Get your nearby hardware store to order you a pack of Viton #2-021 0-rings. They cost less than fifty cents each. I ordered a half dozen some time ago to use and share with friends that are used to paying $3-4.00 apiece for them.

Be sure it is Viton, not another brand. Those store brands will burn through in one season.

+1 on the buying your own at the hardware store. Get size 21 viton O-rings. Viton is a material, not a brand. It is more resistant to harsh chemicals and abuse than a buna oring. That being said...they are cheap and can be bought for a couple of bucks per 100. You can use buna if you change them once in a while. Size 21 is 15/16" I.D. X 1 1/16" O.D. X 1/16" thick.

Here is an old thread on it...

Go to McMaster-Carr part #9464k75 $7.66 per 50 plus a little ups. I bought mine from them.

CZ, I like your slogan. It is partially true. I have had #1 engine blow on a King Air coming back from a hunting trip in AL. The burner cracked and she quit with a bang. Had to ride the rudder all the way down from FL230. Wrestled it to the ground but lived to hunt another day.

Always glad to help. Be sure you ask for Viton o-rings. Carry a spare in your kit all the time for insurance.

I found out about Viton seals and o-ring a long time ago, but in a different application...Hot water flow guages. For some reason, the guy in the job before me was always looking to save $1...or any portion thereof.

So he bought a huge quantity of "Buna-N" rings. System had 6 flow guages, requiring a full overnight period to change out rings in 1 guage. By them time I got guage 6 re-ringed, guage 1 was streaming water out like the open end of a fire hose. (lather, rinse, repeat)

After buying the Viton rings and installing them in all 6 gauges, it was 2-1/2 years before any guage started leaking.
