Anyway, the price was $614, got $30 off that and a $100 rebate from Remington. No one told me the rifle comes with a hard case, that was a surprise.

I spent nearly $900 on a CZ 550 Varmint and it only came in a factory cardboard case. I plan to buy my first hard case to protect that investment though.

How are those bc a2 stocks for weight. I have a 7mm that I rebarreled and would like that od w/ black web. You can check out my older post for a pic of my 700 if you want

Finally got my SPS VS Stainless together and shot it today. Despite the fact that it is a nice looking gun accuracy was disappointing but expected. I put 50 rounds through it to break it in, then another 10 to check it for accuracy.

After that it was time to see what it would do. Group sizes were pretty much what I expected at about 1.25" on average.

The trigger is absolutely horrible, seems like you pull forever waiting for it to go off. After break in it got just a little better. Got home and measured it, breaks at 6 lbs. I doubt it can be brought down to 3 lbs.

The stock was also what I expected. Depending how it was set in the rest the rifle shot higher or lower because of pressure on the barrel. The new stock should be here in 2 weeks so I have this covered. But, I think I want a new trigger. I'll be looking for a Timney to replace what came on the rifle.

Let us know how it does in the new stock. I have the matte finished ADL version from Dick's. With the factory stock supported in a variety of manners I consistently get under .60moa.

Rob96, I'm amazed to hear something can be done with the factory stock. If you got yours down to .60moa you obviously did something right. I can hardly wait for the new stock to get here after shooting this gun. I'm going to see if adjusting the trigger helps any too. Mine breaks at 6 lbs. When I handled the rifles in the store they weren't this bad.

Surprised your trigger is at 6#'s. If I had to guess, mine is at about 4#'s and is nice and crisp. With factory Remington 150gr Core Lokt I get about .85 moa, with my handload of 168gr SMK ove 42grs. of Reloader 15 I get under .60moa. This is shooting it off of a rest or a Harris bipod. I bought the rifle with all intents of changing the stock, but now I'm afraid too.
