Revolver hammer springs

    It seems that torsion springs are traditionally used in revolvers, as I have noticed in modern (and past) S&W's.

    In one gun, the Windicator, I notice it uses a coil spring. Which type is better for longevity?

    Generally speaking, torsion springs are better in firearm applications. This is particularly true in; (1) hammer springs, (2) trigger return springs, and (3) pistol recoil springs.
