I just put one on layaway today that comes with the additional 9mm Luger barrel. I bought it mainly to have a double stack 9mm in a 1911, but the new round seems intriguing. Does anyone have some trigger time behind one at all?

Nope. But the fact that it can set off tannerite alone makes me want it 8)

I didn't even think about that... Well, at least I have an application for that oddball round now :)

Can you use the 45ACP slide on 22 TCM/9mm frame?

That way, you can shoot 45ACP, 9mm and 22 TCM on the same frame :D

Also, can you make the 22 TCM cases out of 9mm?

Looks like 22 TCM cases are formed from .223 cases, not 9mm cases. Since I reload .223, I have plenty of cases to use.

    Interesting cartridge though.

I think it's a 9mm necked down to .223 by design but the actual cartridge is manufactured using shortened .223 cases.

A 9mm case is too short to use for .22 TCM. I'm just hoping making it from .223 will be fairly easy since I already load for it. I'm sure the slide or barrel could be swapped out for a .45, but I've got the Hardballer that covers that caliber :D

Haven't seen one in person yet, but I expect I will soon. The fact that it doubles as a 9mm will probably help its sales, and might even spur me to buy one... I wouldn't mind a hi-cap 1911 and if .22TCM dies out at least the gun isn't useless to me.

And we finally have a hi-velocity small caliber pistol that isn't ugly like the Five Seven, I wonder how the ballistics compare.

Looks like the 22TCM edges out the FN 5.7. Would be interested in seeing some side-by-side ballistics testing for sure.

    28/31 gr FN 5.7×28mm - 2,350 fps

    40 gr Armscor .22TCM - 2,100 fps

And that is also before other ammo makers have a chance to toy with .22TCM to see what it's capable of, so we'll just have to wait and see.

According to RIA's CEO, a Commander version of the .22 TCM is in development and on the way. It will be my next CCW!

Is RIA letting other people play with it too or are they treating it as proprietary?
