those sculptures are actually quite beautiful.....


....i just pray he used reproduction lugers in his church sculpture and not the real thing :eek:
 
while I think those are morbid and a waste of firearms, I can appreciate the artistry involved

Human remains have been used for centuries in artwork. While somewhat macbre there is no denying the beauty of certain pieces. These pieces are pretty cool but for something truly beautiful look up pictures of the various catacombs and bone cathedrals in eastern Europe. Simply astonishing to behold.
 
That's some awesome work. I'd love to have one of the reliquaries, but I'd remove the bone and put something else in it's place. I don't know, Grandpa's pocket knife or Daddy's cufflink or something.

Who is Santa Guerro supposed to be, anyway?

Planetaries. The sun gear is at the bottom.

The leg bone one has a ring and pinion at the bottom, a gear from a manual transmisson at the top (synchro guide and all) and a straight cut gear that I can't positively identify. There are a couple of flex plates in the femur sculpture.

Santa Guerro can be either something along the lines of 'Saint of War'. If he means that it should be Santa Guerra.

Otherwise guerro is spanish slang for 'a really sterotypical white person' in which case this would be 'Saint Stereotypical White Person'
 
Based on the context, I am sure that he means "Saint of War."

I think they're awesome, and really interesting and well made.
 
Was some pretty interesting stuff... His Bio says he has many years experience in casting bronze, I would imagine that the pistols used were cast... at least I hope...

I would have to categorize that as "And Now For Something Completely Different!"

I am like many, interesting to look at, I do appreciate his skill, however I don;t think I would be putting any of the skull and bone stuff at the house.. some of his other work on other parts of his site are interesting as well.. Thanks for posting that..
 
Any of those (except for skulls/bones) would be welcome at my house, im sure i couldnt afford them though,, Anybody else see the one that gives "the bullet" a second meaning ? had to forward that to my wife !
 
My old college room mate used to disassemble my ak74 and hang the parts on my closet.
Made a neat mobile type thing, but I always had to put it together.

He also took the firing pin out of my new Ar-15 and wouldnt tell me how to put it back in. (I was still learning how to disassemble it!)
 
Reliquaries are actually part of the Catholic faith. They would keep any part of the body from a dead saint. Skin, bone, teeth, whatever. It would then be considered a relic. Reliquaries are made to hold relics.

I'm curious if he is just playing on the concept or actually involved. I'm not catholic, so I don't know all the details, but I believe there is a fairly rigorous process to have a relic actually declared a relic....

Anyhow, that's at least where the IDEA for all the bone in the sculptures comes from
