My Latest is a vet bringback Arisaka Type 99 7.7mm that I just got out of layaway. The mum is intact.

I'm both in awe and angry at user: lionking. On one hand he has a collection I'd die for, on the other hand he has the collection I'd kill for! Which to choose? :D

hammerhead if we ever meet up at the range I'd be happy to do some shootin' with you.I haven't had the time lately to go out,and even if I did with this heat wave I don't think I would. Some of them I still need to sight in.test fire and experiment with group sizes.

But in the end it isn't how many you have, but how good you shoot with the one.I was at my local FFL Saturday picking up the Mosin 91's and he had a incredible minty condition M1 carbine Winchester on the rack....I mean it is incredible,he bought it off a estate and when he told me for how much I was in awe and he got a couple minty Lugers also.Too much mula for me though he wants 2k for it.I could rack up the credit card for it but I just won't.......I won't I won't I won't arghhh!Just wiped it clean and it has to stay that way......I hope.sigh

CTW: Do you know much about the wood in your SKS's? I have a Yugo M59 that I'm trying to ID; looks like it had the same wood & finish as the one on the left in your pic. Any ideas? Thanks!

Come on guys! Let's keep this thread going!

My Chinese SKS and Bayonet. Not a bad rifle, but kind of plain.

This is a special Mosin to me. It was rusting, the bolt refused to move, and the rear sight was missing. At $49 though, and another $40 for some parts and rust-remover, it turned into something to hang over my fireplace (if I had a fireplace :D ). Then I took it to the range. Never judge a book by it's cover, because this sucker shooter Bulgarian surplus into neat 3 inch groups at 100 yards, and it's 1942 stamped! :D

Rshooter - Wow, nice Garand! Special Grade from the CMP? I'm going to get a Garand from CMP this week; likely have to settle for a 'field grade'. Looking forward to restoring the stock, though!

Col. Plink, actually no, got lucky on this one. It was the pick of the litter by a gunsmith inspecting buybacks from Korea. Later he was thinking about sporterizing it for hunting. I was able to talk him into a Remington 760 for hunting and he sold me the Garand. Another great rifle saved from the ax when they were cheap and plentiful. :D

Latest additions to the family (thank you CMP). IBM and Standard Products (wearing the M2 stock).

I score a second nice Argentine 1891 Mauser recently.I recently moved out of my friends house into my new house.I had all my stuff lined up against the walls and stacked on the floor. He knew I had alot but didn't realize just how many....he says I have "a sickness" lol.Actually moving them made kind of step back and say "whoa" myself.Maybe I do have a sickness haha.

*the brownish look to the area under the scope is not rust, just a weird lighting thing.
