I always was told that when you pull the rear sight back all the way past 0 and put it up on that little ledge behind 0, you were sighted in for 300 meters. Since I don't shoot at anywhere near that distance, I can't verify that. Can someone else?

So in other words, if you sighted in with the sight pulled completely back, your wights would be correct for 300 meters or 328 yards.

The rearmost setting is the "battle" setting. Designed to get hits on a torso sized target from 100 to 300 meters. On an IDPA sized target you want to hold on the family jewells to avoid overshooting from 100 to around 250 yds.
