If you like the 22A, get the bull barrel. It will do just fine and the price is good. I really don't think the bull barrel or the standard barrel shoot that much differently. Besides, if you don't like the bull barrel, you can get a drop in replacement for about $100. I did that with my 5.5" barrel, added a 7" barrel. Now, I sort of have two good shooting 22A's.

Ok I will go order it tomorrow and maybe a saiga 308 later in the week. My next range session is going to be really fun.

If you can, you should hold each before you buy, that way you can get the one that feels best to you. As far as the length goes, I prefer the longer barrel as I shoot open sights and am often hunting with it. The longer barell gets me longer sight radius, slightly better FPS at the muzzle and more than anything, I like the looks of the longer barrels.

I'd say if you cannot hold them both, then for range plinking, just buy the one that looks best to you. For the duties it is going to perform, I doubt either/or will make that much of a difference over the other. Just my thoughts...

I didn't get it ordered .I didn't think there would be a big difference.
When I was in Gander Mtn. I held the bull barrel model. I am not sure but I think the guy I was going to order from had the standard barrel. [Not Sure Though]

Scope for S&W 22A

Was reading this thread and noticed some of the scopes. What scopes could anyone recommend for the 22A? Moderately priced of course...

Does anyone thread or have a barrel adaptor for threads for this model. would like to find a way to put my can on it.

Bought the 22A about 2 weeks ago, Shot 100 rounds the day I purchased it. Shot Aquilla 40gr Match Pistol to test accuracy. Shot 50 rounds from a rest at 25 yards that a fifty cent piece could cover. Used a MicroDot sight.

Yesterday took it out again, loaded 8 rounds of same ammo. It ran through the magazine and locked open in a normal manner. I then picked up my SIG Trailside to shoot. Noticed a small spring on my bench towel. Examined the just shot 22A and found the extractor and extractor plunger to be missing.

Emailed the address listed in the manual and explained the problem, asked for shipping advice. No answer yet, will call tomorrow.

I will say it is super accurate, not very happy with the extractor problem.
