hi, i have an old stevens 12 ga shotgun in fair condition. i was just wondering what its worth? model 522 j.stevens arms&tool co. chicopee falls.mass.usa.pat' feb7.1905.aug.27.1907 it is a pump action with a diamond shaped pattern on the forearm and the stock. it has a recoil pad on it also.thanks

Its hard to say, without seeing it.
You could do a search for "gun auctions" and probably find what others have sold for.
PS: John Moses Browning did the design on at least one of the old Stevins Shotguns, the 620 I think, it could be worth checking up on.

They're not bad guns. The value on them (and a bunch of others) is low because when you hit the $200 mark you're in new 870 Express territory and folks will go for the new gun over the used. JT
If you haven't shot it yet, check to see if it is one of the "pump fire" models.Not sure of the models/dates but some of the Stevens pump s/g's could be rapid fired by holding the trigger back and pumping the action(no disconnector).Cool unless you don't know about it, then it can be a BIG SURPRISE!!!

I'm familiar with Stevens 520 and 620 models, but am not with the 522.
The 520 and 620 were decent shotguns. I love how easy they take down. I love my 620. I gets a pretty regular workout.

In the price guides I have they're always listed as utility guns with little collector interest, along with the models listed in the other posts. They just give one price for all of them.
Along the same lines, I've tried looking up my grandfather's Stevens SxS, but it's so old I haven't found much other than a mention here and there. It's a 12 ga. with external hammers and some homemade screws and welds on it.
