Here's a handy little tool we have been working on for a while. Just today we finished the first run of them. It is a reinforced polymer stylus that doubles very nicely as a kubaton. It's 3/8" dia. x 6" long. We wanted to make something that would be very unassuming yet incredibly strong. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Just for fun today we took 1 of them and hammered it through a 1/2" sheet of plywood to see how it would hold up. It went through it like butter and didn't even mark it up. :D

OK. Don't know what happened to the photo. Let's try it again.

Thank you. We are going to be concentrating on a pen as soon as our workload gets manageable. I think I'm too optimistic about getting things done. I thought these stylus's were going to be ready about 2 months ago but other stuff kept getting in the way. :cuss:

Looks good! What colors can you add to the polymer during molding?

I know that it looks "tactical" black, but if it were blue, yellow or red, it would be immediately dismissed by anyone seeing it as nothing more than a Bic.

I can do almost any color. The only problem with it is that I would have to run ( and sell ) about 500 of that color to justify the expense of it and there never seems to be a consensus on any 1 color other than black. The next time I do a run of them I'll see if I can get the molder to stick it in at the end of a run they are doing in another color. Maybe I can get them to run just 50 or 100 of them.

Try to get the molder to put it in at the end of a run and hold for the first little bit of the next run using a different color.

I have been testing the LCP pen out also...I have got a few sharp people who want it taken apart but for the most part it gets in....but at 40.00 my cost and up to 100.00 retail its a bit pricey .I think the 7.00 stylus may have the edge in few ways .If Jeff designed a pen I know it would sell like mad.:D

I hear you may have other cool items in the works....:neener:

My LCP went through all the checks through airports and checkpoints riding in the placket of my polo and almost made it back. On the 6th checkpoint at KWI it "somehow" didn't make it though the conveyor and I was in too much of a hurry heading for the midnight flight to Dulles to stop and look for it (or ask the security officer if he had any idea where it went ).

The lead at TDI likes his as well.

That said, it's a bit pricey.

I really would like to concentrate on a pen, I've just got to find the time to start in on it.

The sylus has 2 people in mind, 1] LEO's with touch screen computers in their squad cars and, 2] Anyone with a handheld device. They are designed very simply so as not to attract any unwanted attention. When clipped in a shirt pocket they look just like a pen and even if they are inspected closer they will easily pass as a stylus and nothing more ( which is what they are ). The fact that they can double as a very effective, incredibly strong kubaton is just a bonus :D.

Al, who do hear these rumors from? I am neither confirming nor denying them, I just want to know where the leak is coming fro. If it IS true they will be shipped to you in a drill, lathe, sander, buffer and paint resistant material so you will not be tempted to 'modify' any design we may have in the future :neener: I have found you to be highly unreliable in leaving original designs alone.

"I have found you to be highly unreliable in leaving original designs alone".

Thats one of the best darn compliments I have gotton...THANKS:D

The leak....ahhh Well I :uhoh: well uh FORGOT !:D

I cant wait to see them...knowing your designs and mfg are of the highest quality,I know it will be some very cool items.:D

Al -
You should be receiving something in the mail in the next day or 2. I sent it out to you on Tuesday. Let me know what you think once you've reviewed them but before you've doctored them. :uhoh:

I got the styli today.

Very Tough ...more on this later....Yes I gave it a few torture tests.

Wife grabbed one right away...She liked the diameter as her hand is tiny and most normal size kubatons are to big for her to grab with comfort.....:D

I hate to use my fingers to push public buttons on vending machines, atms, debit machines at stores,etc...To many germs transfer this way.

Stylus worked great for this as I went about my day.

I use my keys, pen, etc for this use normally, but the stylus seems to grab the buttons much better. Not so much as a eyebrow was raised at any store as I used the kubaton in this way.

stylus and some other "pens".
