They look like nice pistols for the money. But I'm wondering if they are reliable and accurate? I was considering the XD, but I don't like the fact that you have to return them to the factory for any repairs. I was also considering a SIG 226R, but that's a little bit too much money. Anyone with any personal experience with the Taurus would be great to hear from you.

I have 2 of them, one I carry on a daily basis and it has been 100% in well over 1000 rounds of defence ammo. I have another that I am currently at 9500 rounds with and Im trying to get to the 10,000 mark asap. It has also been perfect.

You can find a ton of information on the 24/7 line over at www.taurusarmed.net it has its own section :D as far as accuracy goes, mine has been AWSOME in my hands, I shoot it better then any other pistil I own or have owned in the past. Some say they do not like the 2 dot sights but they work great for me. Here is a target I shot with my 2006 24/7 Pro .45acp at 14 yards off hand 12 rounds of blazer Brass cheap stuff from wally world ;)

    I have both 9x19mmP and .45ACP PT24/7 PRO guns...

I am very happy with both of them, even though I am one of those who doesn't like the Heinie Straight-8 sights.

But, having said that, I have been shooting pretty well with them. It just takes me longer to shoot given that I'm pretty used to three dot sights...

good shooting mpanova. i have the 9mm and it is an excelent gun. i really like the grip/angle. my wife loves it as well, so that is a plus. i cant ever remember having a malfuction (tho it is still at a pretty low round count as i am overseas...<2000). the only thing i can say im not a fan of is that it is not advertised to be used with +p or +p+ ammo. accuracy is pretty fair, considering the big, blocky, easy to see heine sights. recoil is very managable as well. 17+1 rounds of 9mm + Streamlight TL2 makes a pretty formidable hd/bedside gun for us as well.

Please don't quote me on this haha but I think I remember reading on taurusarmed.net that the new manuals say the 24/7 Pro is now rated for +p but it recommends you not feed it a steady diet of it. Again I could be wrong, I have not read a manual in awile :D

I think you might be in the same boat with Taurus too. I've never heard of Taurus sending replacement parts to anyone. It'd be nice to be wrong. None of my Taurus guns have ever had a problem, so I've no experience with their service.

Never had a problem with my 9mm model, but I wish I would have bought the .45 - that's all. If carried ofter, the ribber grips on the 9mm will begin to slightly disfigure.

I'd say you'd be better off with the M&p or the FNP..both American made with better customer service if thats a concern for you.

I have a 40 cal 24/7 (not pro), it's been my regular carry gun for about 3 years now. I have fired well over 3000 rounds through it and have never had a malfunction of any kind.

    Yes to +P

On TaurusTactical.com it indicates that all Taurus pistols are designed to accepts a steady diet of +P ammo. http://taurustactical.com/template_images/taurusTacticalManual07.pdf That seems to be the best answer for the +P question, but I personally would not feed any gun only +P, particularly if you are going to be doing a large amount of shooting, but that's just me. I own a Mil Pro and it has proven to be reliable but I with the blued finish was better, or that I would have went with the stainless slide. I think that Taurus has the best ergonomics in the 24/7 line of any semi-auto around. I also think they are underrated and priced very well. They don't get the respect they deserve, but that is OK, because it keeps the price down.

My PT145 Mil Pro has performed 100% except when my father in law limp wristed it...a firm hold corrected the problem. Love the Taurus SA/DA trigger. Carry my PT145 every day!

I guess it's time for my two electronic cents. I have a 24/7, and love the hell out of it. It's in .40, and I have yet to have any misfeeds or misfires (the whole thing about single/double action... It works. I got to try it out at the range last week. I had a hard primered CCI round that didn't go off on first strike. Sure enough, it did on the second. It made a believer out of me, let me tell you. My issue glick would have left me cold.

Not to mention, you can't beat the deal on that sucker. Buds has them for $326 blued, or $336 stainless in .40.

Just bought a 24/7 Pro .45. Plan on making it my carry gun after I break it in.
With dry firing I don't mind the straight 8 sights. See how well they work soon.
