TC Omega...Z5 vs X7

    I am thinking of buying a Thompson Center Omega, but see there are two models.. the Z5 and the X7. I can't seem to tell what the difference is between the two. Anyone have knowledge re: the difference???

    I'm not sure about all of the differences, but the standard Z5 has a 28 inch heavy barrel while the X7 has a newly designed fluted receiver and a 24 inch lightweight tapered barrel, so it weighs 1 pound less.

    One picture shows a composite stock while the other is laminated.
    The Z5 has the Weathershield finish while X7's is not specified (but it looks brighter).

    The Z5 is just carbon steel coated in weathersheild minus the bore. Also you can get the Z5 with a blued barrel. The Z5 all have the plain jane black synthetic stocks too. All other omegas are stainless.
