Silver plated
does not work on werewolves... only solid silver. It has to do with the amount of silver in the projectile and the amount of silver imparted to the werewolf.
Tests at the Cthulhu research Center concluded that silver plating was simply not enough. The silver plating tended to "Rub off" in the barrel, leading to an even greater loss of the pure silver. When used against a large werewolf, several shots with 100% silver rounds were needed for an effective takedown.
The chief tester, Mr Omar "Lefty" Cheatum, had this to say..."Oh yes, we shot alot of werewolves with the plated rounds and they were mostly annoyed." "when we switched to the full silver rounds, Oh, how happy were we"
