Early this morning, my wife told me she was not feeling well and would not go to work then, but might go for a little bit this afternoon to take care of pressing business.

I took the dog for a walk and came back to find her fully dressed and adjusting her holster

“You look like you are going somewhere. Are you feeling better?”

“No, I’m not. But I think that some range time will help. I want to try that XD that they have to rent Downriver.”

We went downriver and shot up almost 400 therapeutic rounds. She then felt much better. She felt so much better that she wanted to go to Madison Heights to test a Sig that she was also considering.

Finally, we went to her place of work. I waited in the car until she came out – accompanied by three co-workers who instructed me to take her straight home so she could rest.

    it is therapeutic

I can get into the flow of target shooting and forget a whole lot of troubles and stress. Not that my doctors have ever written a prescription for it yet but it works.

Sounds like she took a "mental health day".

 Yep, I wish the shrinks would get around to recognizing shooting as the relaxer that it is...my wife calls it "stress relief".:D

I need to find a doctor that will write a prescription for that! "Please excuse the absence of DoubleTapDrew. He needs 250 rounds of ammo each day and time to clean the guns.":D
Doing exciting stuff like that can make you feel better for a while. The one and only time I got seasick, I felt awful until I caught a huge silver salmon. I felt great for about 20 minutes then felt sick again (ralphing off the back of a boat at 40mph is interesting!)

There's another thread on here that calls that kind of treatment "Recoil Therapy". I just say I had the "gun flu".

It really is a great stress reliever. I always feel so much more relaxed afterwards. It's better than a pill everyday.:D
