Unicorn of a knife...

So I have a strange habit of wanting things I cannot have. I've done some reading lately about ballistic knives and would like to see/handle one. Does anyone have any information about these knives/related bans/commonality? I know they've been made illegal but is that just to own or sell or carry? Do any of you have them? Are they quality items? I know it's a silly idea but I think the concept of a ballistic knife is interesting.

I looked at the url and don't see anything unusual.

I do like sticky buns but this isn't a baking forum.

Saw it. So ballistic knifes fall under the same category as switchblades? It seems highly unlikely that these would be made legal anywhere...even in the states where switchblades are legal.

while the idea of a ballistic knife is cool, i've never seen or heard of one that was an effective weapon. i've heard that the Spesnaz used them, but as i don't hang out with them regularly, i don't know if that's true or not.

being in any situation where you need a knife for self defense is bad enough. if you fired one, and missed your target...well, that's probably worse.

In years past, I have armed myself with a handgun. In todays world though, carrying a firearm into remote areas is not acceptable and in some cases even illegal. I see many people going into the back country who are oblivious to the dangers that they could potentially be facing. These people don't realize that once you enter the wild you become part of the food chain.

Carrying a regular knife is useless against a bear or similar predator, but the WASP with its massive injection of compressed gas is devastating to mammals of any size.

Have you ever seen a doctor administer an injection. Before injecting the medicine into the patient, the doctor makes sure to remove all air bubbles. Why? Because a bubble the size of a BB can cause a blockage and kill you.

Wow, he manages to get social norms, animals, and medical knowledge wrong in as many paragraphs! To paraphrase, "That gun you have there is unacceptable, and your knife won't work either, so take this knife that shoots air to cause a blockage (which is medical term) in any mammal of any size!!"
