Subject: VA-ALERT: Senator Saslaw denigrates gun owners!

On Monday, Executive member John Pierce was in an elevator in the
General Assembly building, participating in the VCDL Lobby Day. John
was in the back of the elevator and at some point Democratic Senator
Dick Saslaw of Fairfax County, who is the Senate Majority Leader,
entered the elevator with a companion.

The Senator, not realizing that John with his large "Guns Save Lives"
badge was in the back of the elevator, continued a loud conversation
he was having with his companion.

In a clearly audible voice, Senator Saslaw said to his companion: "I
see we're debating a gun bill today. Half of the cast of Deliverance
    is in town."

John was disgusted and so am I!!!

While the Senator might think he is unbiased towards others, based on
that comment he is in fact a bigot and an elitist.

His disdain was shown a short while later when he rudely and
intentionally made a comment meant to disrupt the statement I was
making before the Courts of Justice committee on Senator Marsh's gun
    show bill.

We need to ask our Senators and Delegates to demand that Senator
Saslaw issue an apology to those gun owners who were attending the
General Assembly on Monday and to the citizens of Virginia for
    betraying their trust.

Here is a pre-written email to your Senator:

Its been a long time since I saw the movie but maybe this fool has his script backward. Seems to me that there were two sides or halfs in the movie the hillbilly crimminals and the lawabiding outdoorsmen. Seems most gun owners are lawabiding outdoorsmen so then he must be in the hillbilly crimminal side or half. Maybe he is confused as to which side or half of the movie people he is with. Could someone send him a copy of the movie might help clear up a few details.
I can't imagine his though process where he got to thinking like that.

This would be better in the Activism forum, if you want a "contact" campaign.

I am going to call his office on Monday and ask which group he was referring to with those comments. He's my State Senator (Lucky me).

I am curious as to the particular comments that he said with disdain during proceedings.

I am surprised no one has made an off-color remark about taking a banjo and violently introducing it to said Senators body orifice.
Senator, you are out of tune.
