Is there published anywhere a mechanical drawing of the .45 cylinder (or heck, the .45 Colt cylinder) for the Ruger Vaquero? I'm trying to find the exact dimensions for such a thing.

    Thank you!

The exterior dimensions are the same between the Vaquero and Blackhawk revolvers. If you have, or can borrow a dial caliper you should be able to measure one or more cylinders at almost any gunshop in you're area.

Ruger single action cylinders are not relieved at the back for "moon" clips in the same way double-action one's are. The cartridges headspace on the front of the case in a slightly deeper chamber. You can get a .45 ACP cylinder fitted to a .45 Colt Vaquero or Blackhawk, but you have to return the gun to Ruger as they insist on doing the work.
