What kind of Carcano do I have.

So today while perusing the local gunstore that I don't like, I went behind counter while owner was eating and talking fishing.

Found a Carcano, which I knew. Labeled Russian/7mm Jap, which of course it isn't. $75. I offer $50 and take it out the door.

The SA stamp I pretty much had ideas about: it was lent to Finland by Mussolini. XVII means 17th year of Mussolini reign, so 1941? Other markings are FDNI and a crown. Stock doesn't have handguard but doesn't look cut down.

    I'll try to get pics.

Cool find. SA stamp on a Carcano is really an interesting fine. You know there is a model 41 Carcano. Could that be where the 1941 comes in? I have a model 41 that I paid all of $65 for six years ago. I never have fired it because the ammo is hard to find and the clips are not an every day find either. I'd like to see some pictures.

    Sounds like you got taken.

I feel badly for you, so I'll take it off your hands for $75.
