.....My ever increasing interest in wheelguns of all types

.....My ever increasing interest in blued and wood versus polymer and uberfinishes

.....that after trying everything from a FS 1911 to a glock 27 I still carry a j-frame more than anyhting else.*

*my jframe may be replaced soon by a KT P3AT......

I used to despise the 9mm based on it's reputation of being a poor performer in a fight and swore I'd never own one.
Then I picked up a FN made BHP for such a sweet deal I couldn't pass it up. It has quickly become my favorite carry pistol and now I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a fight. This has got a lot to do with improvements in ammo over the years also.

Me too ....I always put down the 9mm...until I owned one(2 actually)it is my favorite round now(although I carry a 357).....

What surprises me is that I didn't like FN-FAL's, HK 91's, 93's and other Euro black rifles when they were cheap.

That someone who received an "A" on a pro handgun control paper in college many years ago would become a "recovering liberal" and an absolute zealot for the 2nd A!!!!!

That one of my favorite guns would be a revolver-a 4" 686P rather than some "cooler", harder to get, more expensive, semi-auto!

Shotguns.......There is something just very cool about lobbing a slug 3/4" in diameter at 1500fps. Last week it was one gallon jugs filled with water. It is hell on my shoulder but that is the price one pays for having fun.

Two things:

1) That I would spend four years on the frontlines in the Cold War and now love the AK far more than the AR.

2) That I found last year that for about three years running I have spent more on knives than on ammunition. I shoot a couple of times a week but use my knives everyday. You should see my kitchen, it looks like a who's who of top end kitchen cutlery. The "weapon" knife shelves in my safe are overpopulated too--Al Mar to William Henry.

That I even like guns at all. Didn't grow up with them, and now can't stop shopping around. Never thought I'd own an "actual bullet-firing AK-47" (it's an SAR-1). Makes ya wonder what else ya might be missing out on...  :)
