Most of the distributors are out of the steel full size CZs, especially the 9mm DA/SA CZ75B. My local FFL has been looking for a CZ75B for weeks with no luck. Is CZ filling a large military contract or did they decide to focus on other platforms?

It seems to me it is not just limited to CZ.

Try to find just about any desirable gun that isn't turned out like pop corn on an plastic injection molding machine.

You can't get certain desirable models of Colts, S&W's, Brownings, or Springfield's either.

The reason?
There is another presidential election looming on the horizon.

I think it has a lot to do with the upcoming election. I've also heard some speculation that CZ is filling a large contract.

According to my LGS, CZ is selling very well in Europe and consequently not exporting much of their production to the USA at the moment.

One can always go with IMI "Baby Eagle", "Jericho", or Turkish clone like AR-24.

My LGS had a stainless and blued in stock. They don't have the stainless anymore though. :)

I agree that everything is scarce, but CZs aren't going to the major distributors which means they aren't being imported. I was curious about the lack of importation.

I was wondering the same thing...it took me a bit of work to get an SP01 (non Phantom).

If I remember correctly I read on the website someplace that they're still trying to fulfill some large military contracts. Even parts are starting to get more difficult to find.

Best Regards,
Jerry

I own 6 CZ 452 - 22LRs... Based on the number of serious defects on my long guns from the factory, I thought CZ popped out guns like pop corn on injection molds. Their quality control is non-exiistant on the rimfire long guns....

I have had a hard time finding any CZ pistols in my area for a couple of years now. Nothing at any of the LGS or at the gunshows either. Finally I found some at a gun shop over an hour and a half away from where I live. I asked the sales clerk why they had 3 CZs in stock when nobody else had any and he told me that he's the one in charge of ordering guns for the store. Since he was also a big fan of CZ pistols, he ordered them in occasionally so he could eventually buy some of them for himself. Good thinking on his part and I took advantage of his keen foresight and initiative to pick up a CZ75D Compact and a Kadet .22 conversion kit.
