Which Vintage Scope?

Just picked up a beautiful 1950 Mannlicher Schoenauer in 9.3x62. It is equipped with a Steyr swing out scope mount and a period correct Weaver K8 60-B. My problem is that the 8x scope is far too much magnification for the terrain in which I hunt so I would like to replace it with something with a bit less. However, the current scope is 15.5" long with a 1" tube that is 9" between the bells. My scope rings measure 6.75" from front edge to rear edge. I have looked at every other scope that I own and none have a tube long enough to accommodate the spread of the rings. Any suggestions on a scope that might work?

If you want to go with a new scope, SWFA carries the Leupold 3X20.
