Caribou,
Your threads on THR and Outdoorsdirectory.com are riveting to say the least.
You are truly a "stranger in a strange land" but you have become part of that strange land. I would be very interested to know what it took for you to find a wife and then be accepted by a new(to you)culture. Your family is awesome, kids, wife and relatives. They, like you, are amazing.
Sincere thanks for your posts.

I'm thinking Pure Chance, Sweat and Mars intersecting Pluto on the Cosmic Karma highway got me where I am today, Jim StC, it just worked out that way. :D The best friends I ever had are working hard beside me, in all weather, all year round, and that kind of mutual respect transcends culture and color.

I love those pictures.

Caribou's threads always make me think of the Jack London books I devoured and wore out as a kid, and the dreams of Yukon adventure that I never took the plunge on and lived. Someone actually did jump in, and there you are.

I didn't realize that a wolf hide was worth that much money. Two dead wolves = a bounty of money for that family. What a blessing.

I will kill every wolf I legally can just to save our shrinking elk and moose herds.
Wolves have been mismanaged by the Feds and incredibly stupid lawsuits to the point where our game herds are a fraction of what they were just 12 short years ago.
It is sad to see all the opportunities for sportsman to have a good hunt and put some meat in their freezer lost to overpopulated packs of wild canines.
But that was the anti-hunters master plan in the first place.

Caribou

I read your posts on another forum too. Keep up the good work, I've learned alot from you about living in the "Great Land".

Thanks alot.
