What does an "X" mean in the serial number of a model 94 (pre-64) Winchester?
Looks original - not refinished, honest wear on the gun, but the x at the end of the serial number has me Thanks!

X suffix on a fiearm

The "X" usally means a duplicate serial number in my experience. Why not call Winchester and ask them?
