Does anyone know of any company that makes a .22LR conversion kit for the Springfield XD? Are there any in the works?

No one does right now. And talks of it coming out have died for some reason.

The company that said they would make one apparently decided not to. Many have wanted one...buyers guaranteed.
The other day I was in a gun shop that just happened to have an EAA Witness 45/22 convertible. What could I do but get it and today tried it out for the first time. Only ran each 45 mag through one loading...no problems at all. Put on the 22 upper and tried both mags with a couple of different types of ammo with occasional FTF but only about once in every other mag. It appeared to be something a little polishing might eliminate and even if not it's not real objectionable for target practice and plinking. Lots of cheap shooting and a very nice 45 for good measure.:)
Wish there was one for the XD-45c because it's my favorite gun. If you can get a good deal on something like a convertible 22/45 of any good kind you should consider it. The Witness has a nice single action trigger and can be used either single only or DA/SA. It's a CZ knockoff made by Tanfoglio in Italy and seems very well done. Has pretty much the size and weight of the
Xd and the grip is very similar in angle and measurements so it will do the job and stand in for it. :)

Use hot ammo for any conversion kit. Stingers/Velocitors push the slide the hardest.
