Your first five firearms purchases...

My first five, in order, were:

1. Mossberg 590 (still have it)
2. Mossberg 702 (sold)
3. Intratec Tec-9 (bought it for fun, got tired of it, sold it)
4. FIE E-25 (played with it, broke it, fixed it again, gave it away)
5. Beretta CX4 Storm

Followed by...

6. PX4 Storm
7. Walther P22
8. Kel Tec P-32
9. Sendra AR-15

1.Glock model 19 (traded)
2.Glock model 17
3.Sig Sauer P229 .40S&W
4.HK USP 45 fullsize
5.Beretta Cougar 8000F 9mm

Those were my first 5.The G19 I traded for a P226(all black) in .357sig.Also added 6 & 7 which are FN Hi Power and Beretta CX4 9mm carbine.

Guns that I should've bought but regretfully didn't were Sig P226 9mm tu-tone and a Beretta 92 Custom Carry II.:banghead:

I had to think a bit to remember these:

1) Single barrel 12 ga shotgun (Western Field?)
2) Ruger Redhawk .44 Mag (Wish I had kept this one!)
3) Winchester 94 .30-30 (Should have kept this one too)
4) Charter Arms .38 (That was a mistake!)
5) Ruger 10/22

1) 2nd generation GLOCK 17. I added every aftermarket part known to man which turned it into a jam-o-matic. After I restored it with the original parts, I sold it. I prefer 3rd gen frames and I've moved on to 10mm anyway. I don't regret it since G17's are plentiful if I ever want another.

2) GLOCK 29 from an ad in the classifieds. Night sights, mag extensions and 250 rounds of ammo for $500. My best buy ever. I use it as my home defense gun.

3) GLOCK 20, also used. My EDC gun.

4) A KelTec P32. I thought I would carry it a backup. It didn't work at all. After a trip back to the factory they told me the trigger parts were missing/not connected or something. I sold it. No regrets about selling it either because...

5) ...my Kahr PM9 turned out to be small enough for pocket carry so I used that for a while instead. The only thing I regret is the all black versions weren't out, so I got the two tone. I don't like the look, and I'll have to get it refinished. Good gun though.

I'm only 17, but i fantasize about these purchases so much. Here's what i've got it down to on that mythical day, july 12th, 2010.

I turn 18 in july 2007, i'm thinking of an SKS (for sure), and a mil-surp like a mosin-nagant, or a turkish mauser.

I've got it so far too:
Smith and Wesson 4" .357 (686, probably)
Glock 17
Glock 21

Ruger MkI .22
Colt Trooper MkIII 6" .357
Ruger 10/22
Savage Model 12 Single shot target
SAI M1A

Sold the MkI so I could buy a MkII. Now working on a MkIII
Sold the Colt Trooper so I could buy a Series 70 .45 Auto
Still have both of those and the remaining 3. Started in 1978.

My first five...

1. Remington 870P (blued with wood furniture)
2. Ruger 10/22 DSP
3. Browning Citori XS Sporting
4. S&W 5946
5. Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec

Chris

1) Ruger Mini 14 Ranch Rifle
2) Glock 21
3) Beretta 92FS
4) HK USP Compact (.40)
5) Mossberg 590

[all gone now except the Mossy] :)

GREAT QUESTION

MY FIRST FIVE:

1. 1903 SPRINGFIELD SPORTER 30-06

2. MODEL 1912 WINCHESTER 12 GAUGE

3. CUSTOM 98 MAUSER WITH MANNLICHER STOCK AND TEXAN SCOPE

4. STEVENS MODEL 311 12 GAUGE SXS

5. STEVENS MODEL 311 16 GAUGE SXS

I WISH I STILL HAD THE MAUSER. HAVE BEEN KICKING MYSELF FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS. I'VE SOLVED THAT PROBLEM. I JUST KEEP 'EM ALL.

Hmmm, that was a "while" back. As I recall, they were:

1. Taurus 4" Stainless .357
2. Browning Hi Power 9mm
3. Ruger Mini-30 7.62x39
4. Imported M1A .308
5. Remington 870 Express 12 Guage

Sadly (or not), I no longer own any of those original 5. At the time, I considered myself to have a fairly well rounded collection of available firepower for "any given" scenario. Possibly missing a good .22 LR though. I suppose other than the specific make and models, that would still be a fairly well rounded "meet all needs" collection. Such good memories of the smell of dirt and gunpowder; much preferred to the $50 a half-ounce fufu juice of today's trendy crowd :D.

H & R 929 Revolver (9 shot .22 rimfire)
S & W 640 .38 Spl. DAO Revolver (early model stamped +P+)
Glock 27
S & W 642 Airweight .38 Spl.
Kel-Tec P-32

Beretta 96 Brig Inox
Bersa "Thunder" .380
Kimber Ultra Carry II (sold Beretta to buy  )
Savage 110GXP3 .300 Win Mag
Springfield TRP (sold Kimber to buy  )

Romanian SAR-1 (Traded it in for a Yugo M70)
Polish M44
Ruger 10/22
Ithica M12 pump-action bottom ejecter
Ruger PC-9

Only two so far and both in the last six months:
  • Bersa Thunder .380 Concealed Carry
  • Walther P22

My next gun will likely be a Ruger 10/22 to teach my daughter how to shoot.

Future plans include:
  • .45 (probably 4" XD)
  • 9mm (probably a CZ-PO1 w/Kadet .22 conversion kit)
  • 12 gauge (undecided)
  • possibly a .38 or .357 revolver

1st: Remington 597 .22LR rifle
2nd: S&W 659 9mm handgun
3rd: S&W 22A .22LR handgun
4th: S&W 642 .38spc handgun
5th:...nothing yet. It's going to be a beretta 96, .40 handgun

Damn carnaby, you sold the 96 inox :(

In 1971 when I was 11 I took $10.00 in allowance money and bought a .410 bolt action single shot Western Field. My neighbor knew I wanted to hunt rabbits in a field near the house and talked to my folks before he asked me if I wanted it. I ran home and asked my Mom and Dad if it was O'k. I was told if thats what I wanted to spend my monney on that was fine. I walked home with my chest all puffed out and prouder than Buck in Rut. I still have that gun and I cherish it. Hope my Grandson wants to shoot with me some day so I can give it to him.

I know the first one was a Springfield Armory Micro Compact .45 ACP.

Then I decided that was too expensive to shoot a lot, and it wasn't that much fun to shoot a log anyway.

Bought a CZ75B 9mm.

Then decided THAT was still expensive to shoot, so I bought a Browning BuckMark Micro nickel .22.

Started camping a lot and bought a Ruger Blackhawk convertible (9mm / .357).

Followed by a S&W Model 317 "kit gun" .22 revolver.

Mossberg 500
SW 686
SW 22A
SKS
Mosin 39 and Rem 527 at the same time.

I think that's the correct order. Should have bought a 5 shot Mossberg instead of the 8...they did away with the alternate barrels for the 8 shot. The 686 is my fav gun I own...trouble free and a great shooter. The 22A I got a good deal on...still have it and it's accurate, just not super reliable. The SKS is fun but hasnt gotten out this year...the 22s have been cheaper to shoot this year. The Mosin couldnt hit the side of a barn and the 22 was super accurate but constantly jammed and misfed about every 3 shots. Traded both of those in towards a 3 screw Blackhawk in 41...my second fav gun. Should have bought the K31 instead of those 2.
