While we all know to dress around a gun, sometimes "comforting" means a mousegun due to limits on attire, or setting.
While we all know to "have a plan, a backup plan" these plans may include a mousegun.
While we train, and practice retention drills, if matters are such, and have gone South, the mousegun is just another tool in the toolbox.

Pictures are always nice, some of these mouseguns are just neat little buggers and I am even going to say some are just downright cute.


Lately I have messing with the NAA Mini-Revolver, in .22 lr, with 1 1/8" barrel with the factory lanyard ring.
Over the years I have aquainted myself with this gun quite a bit, and have lots of trigger time.

Semi-Autos, I like the Beretta Jetfire, with its smooth trigger, being reliable, easy to maintain, inspect, load, makes safe, and this little bugger is accurate.

I will stop now, and wait for pictures and input from others.

Doing the paperwork on one of these guns a guy walked in, looked down, and asked me deadpan: "you play cards?"

My favorite "answer the door" gun is the Keltec P32. Lightweight, better caliber than the 25ACP, and IMO reliable.

But again, I just think the old guns are pretty and represent a bygone era... I mean, check out the case hardening on the Colt Vest Pocket:

Another mousegun lover signing in. CZ-70 in .32. A little large for a modern mousegun, but a lot of fun to shoot. Easy to disassemble for cleaning - mash in takedown button, pull back of slide up and back. Off it goes.
Sights aren't fiber-optic or adjustable - but the notch and post are pretty quick to acquire for me.
Not the prettiest gun. Not the smallest. Not the most powerful by any means. Still, a fun and cheap gun that works. Also love the safety/decocker setup. Taurus has got it on their Beretta 92 copy... must buy one of those some day. Come to appreciate DA/SA pistols, too.
Really like to buy one of those old, tiny .25s - Baby Browning or Colt. Must save up for one. Nice size, old gun.
Then I'd like to get a .38 snubby. Maybe a bodyguard model.

I find that it's an extremely easy gun to haul around in the pocket. Great for the Texas outdoors - you don't want to carry a heavy gun around when you're chopping wood, mowing, etc - and it's nice to have something to use from a distance when a snake comes around (two footed or no-footed variety).

Grandmother's Galesi model 9 .25acp mfg 1947(sorry theres nothing for size comparasin in the pic, but it's essentially the size of Sven's Browning) Fun too shoot, but I never carry it.The safety is REAL easy to switch off, so I'm just not comfortable with it for carry, but plinking, its fine.

These are my two. I've taken to use the term "minigun". Sounds more impressive, don't you think? Anyway, the top one is the Seecamp I carry often and the bottom one the Walther TPH which I've never actually carried, although I have two holsters for it. The twenty dollar bill serves two purposes: it shows the scale of the two guns and represents the cost of a box of ammo these days.

Holy crap. Sven, is your wallet actually... bigger than that Baby Browning? Dang, you must need a kickstand when you sit down..

The Baby Browning seems kind of like a "behind the ear" gun. Not that you'd actually have to put it behind someone's ear to do them injury, you could just carry the thing behind your ear and forget about it, like a pen.

No mouseguns of my own, but y'all's is nice.

On the Browning, is that really an LCI or is it a "striker is cocked" indicator? It looks like it would be right over the primer, which wouldn't be a good place for an LCI.

Here's what I have:
Left Column: East German Makarov (9X18), CZ 24 (9X17), Kel-Tec P3AT (9X17)

Center Column: Charter Arms Undercover 32S&W Long, Taurus 94 (22 LR)

Right Column: Bulgarian Makarov (9X18), Taurus PT22 (22 LR)

Some are larger Mouseguns than others, but they still squeak.

No pic, but I have a Beretta Tomcat. The trigger pull in DA is long and heavy. It has jammed a couple of times, even with fmj. Also the firing pin in prone to breakage. I've been thinking about getting something else, but not sure what. Thinking about a Walther PPK in .380.

I have a Berretta 950 .25 that I carried in my front shirt pocket while working graveyard in the bad parts of town.
I depended on it for a couple of years to get me back to my truck where the real guns were kept
It's in the back of the safe now with a broken ejector and faulty safety.
Everytime I see one of these threads I think about having it repaired.
But everytime I see one of these threads someone mentions a NAA .22 and I think I'd rather just buy one of those

So, 230RN, does that mouse carry in Condition 3 or is it clearing a malfunction?

What does a decent-condition Baby Browning or Colt Vest Pocket go for these days, on average? It would be almost completely useless to me, but I must admit, I think they're kind of neat.

Responsible Firearm Owner - Reminder.
Pretty much aimed at the New Folks.

1. We are not advocating mouseguns as so much discussing another tool in the toolbox.
Just as we would not advocate using a .22 cal for deer hunting.
Applicable laws, regulations, and just good old Common Sense says to use the right tool for the task.

2. Example: I priced a NIB NAA .22 mini-revolver for $174 the other night.
Good used Police Trade-In Model 10s can be found for just a tad more money.
Internally pristine with exterior wear.
If YOUR environment, attire, tasks and the like allows you to use a bigger gun, of a larger caliber do it!

3. Aw Phooey. Sentimental me. Darn Mouseguns have Collecting Appeal.
I just feel some things need to be preserved, respected, and passed forward to future generations.
Take a note of some these mouseguns, the metallurgy, attention to detail, features, craftsmanship and all.
Neat huh?

Fun is having two NAA mini-revolvers and folks not knowing you have the second one.
Fire 10 rounds as quick as you can and when folks go "huh?" just casually mention you were using speed-loaders.

I have .32s. A hard chrome P-32, a pre-WWII H&R Premier that I found in my father's garage last week (he says I left it there - nope) and an ancient Iver Johnson .32 that might be a half-inch bigger or so than a P-32 due to the long barrel. It's a tiny little thing.

Around $400 in stores, it seems. Sometimes more, sometimes less on the auction sites... expect to pay $300-400 for one, I reckon.
