Thanks on both counts. Used my wife's point-n-shoot. Got lucky, I guess.

Hey, Leon, how's Matilda?
![]() That Ruger seems to be missing something. I know, that friggin' billboard that's normally on the barrel. Looks good. I like Unfluted cylinders. ROA and Remington New Army both appeal to me, for that reason. I wonder if I can get unfluted cylinders for my Ruger Redhawk and GP100? Come to think of it, my Taurus .44 mag would look good with an unfluted wheel, too.

I picked this Model 638 up awhile back. Not meant to be a replacement for my Model 649; more like a capable stand-in for those warmer weather/casual attire sort of days.

I just ordered a factory bobbed hammer for this little 36 no dash beauty. I'll get a pic up once the new hammer is on and I've decided on what grips to go with her.

Hey funkeecowboy.
Its your gun and you can do what you want with it. However, if it were me I would just buy a no lock 442 and leave that one as is. It has a pinned barrel so it was made back when they were still hand fitting the parts together and you can't buy a new one from the factory today that is as good as that one. A Gander MT just opened near me and they have a no-lock 442 for sale. I believe it is a new one so if so then S&W is still making some 442s without that #$%^ lock. JJ
