Had a LOT of fun. It was hot and dusty, and we had something like 30 shooters this time, some running 2 rifles. Thanks to all that run timers and clipboards and pick up brass.

No malfunctions sunday, just need to remind myself to move on if I'm struggling with a single target.

Just a note: dusty mags + sweaty pads/mag carriers = MUDDY mags.

Stage one.. started wih my hat, blew off by 2nd position. I really need a chin strap on that thing. Thanks to the new guys for snapping some pics. (Nice bit of brass in the air.) Note in that shot I forgot to reverse kneel and am on the wong side of the fence post.

Got some running in with Justin, he moves fast and since we had to scramble down a cliff face that's no easy task.

I hadn't met Matt before but he ran two rifles (SCAR and an iron sighted AK-74) and worked his butt off.

That we did, but alas no pics since our photographer was home sick.

Just moved to CO over the summer. Havn't been on THR in quite a while. Just now stumbled into this. How would I get involved come next spring?

That is easy, just show up. We have the competition at the Pueblo West Sportsman's Assoc range on the 4th Sunday of the month. I believe the first match is in April. The fee is $10 or $15. Setup starts a little after 7 and we could always use an extra hand. Send Hoser or Justin a pm for directions and the gate code.

Match fee is $15, which works out to $5/stage. Pretty screaming deal.

If you use a calendar program, be sure to set it to give you a reminder for next year so you don't forget.

If you need directions to the range and a gate combo, send a PM to Hoser, Me, or Robert.

First match of the 2013 season is March 24! We may even have some long range targets up on the 600y range. Should be fun. I will be running two rifles at the first match, my AR and my FAL. Plan on attending and we will see you there.

The targets wont be 600 yards away, but we will be shooting from the shotgun ranges into the 600 yard backstop.

These matches almost went away when another discipline decided we needed to go away. However, calmer heads prevailed and both clubs figured out a fix that made everyone happy.

Dont forget, when you see the PWSA Club president, say "Thank you for letting us knuckledraggers use your range." Little things like that go a long way.

Well, I get credit for it. Justin and Robert do all the real work. Without them, no matches. I pretty much just stand around so people have someone to yell at when their feelings get hurt.

It has been a few years since you have been out to shoot one of these. You thinking about trying them again?

I just tote steel around and put it on stands, not real hard.

I'm thinking of trying again in "old timers'" division! This way I won't be too concerned if I "time out."

My circumstances have settled down again enough that I may come and try it again, or just volunteer to help out. I have a buddy who is young enough that he will definitely want to play, and of course I told him you were the one to watch so as to learn "how to" or watch me to learn "how not to."

I am concerned that ammo availability may play a big part in how much of this I do over the summer.
