I like the irregularity of the threads/twists of the white, and the color of the green.

Thanks. I will be sending one out to a THR member for an unbiased trial some time next week. Keep your eyes open for his review. I'm planning some more torture tests of my own and will be posting that as well to give folks an idea of just how tough these things are.
Just for S&G, part of the torture test will involve my .22, 9mm, AR-15 & .30-06 ![]() To give you some idea of what they have already been through, I've hacked them up with a machete, and have covered them in peanut butter and let my American Bulldogs chew on them. I'll drag one down the road behind the truck, and have a bunch of other tests to try and wreck one.

Got some I made with cue ball and eight balls on the handle end. Got'em with hame balls handles, deer antler handles, etc., etc. Got a matched pair of 37" hickory stock canes that I put Colt pistol grip medallions in. Fine brace of Colts. I've got some I've lost off the 4-wheeler while in the woods hunting. Still got the one you can see on the back rack of the 4-wheeler here though.

I have recently had to use a cane due to the indiscretions of my youth. For variety I have picked up some 'walking sticks' from a range of establishments, Cold Steel has some nice ones for walking and self defense, there are several knife makers that make some very nice walking sticks and staffs. I found one company out of South Africa that makes some very nice and unique walking sticks, bought one for my birthday present, very pleased

bikerdoc...
Sounds like we prefer the same kind of rolling stock! I've given a couple of sticks away. I end up loosing some of them. I've left them hanging on tree limbs when I'm hunting and bounced them off the 4-wheeler. The ones hanging in a tree are easy to recover. I made one from mountain laurel probably 30 years ago before I really needed a stick...I just found them handy at times. I kept up with that one for 25 years and bounced it off somewhere while I was deer hunting. Never found it.

Got this Blackthorn from Ireland via EBay. When I went to the Social Security office in 2006, the security guard asked if I had any weapons. I told him I had a pocket knife, which had a blade over 2" which was not allowed. I left and put the knife in a flowerpot by the elevator. Anyway, I went to the Social Security office and had my cane with me. Asked if I had any weapons, I said no. When I left, I was going to ask the guard if he thought the cane could be a weapon, decided to not press my luck. If I had to choose between the knife or cane, cane hands down.

Nice looking blackthorn. Mine doesn't have as sharp protrusions where the roots were, and isn't as shiny. It came from lollysmith.com.
