The 'cool' factor winner is......
Dear THR:
Just for fun, which handgun do you believe is the coolest and wins the cool factor trophy? I am torn between the three: Glock 18C (for rareity, firepower and looks with accessories attached) Desert Eagle 50AE gold plated H&K Mark 23 with laser device and suppresso Thank you

I keep nominating this one, but I guess my tastes are different.

A gold plated DE is only cool if it matches your teeth.

A. There is no way a gold plated deagle or glock could ever be considered "cool" and B. You have no 1911 listed

"Cool" is a package thing, not a single item. For instance James Bond dressed in a tux makes a gun look "cooler" than a 350lb tow truck driver wearing shorts and sandals.

Too true. I can think of a ton of exceptionally cool guns, depending who's holding it. Bond with a PPK is a great example. Wyatt Earp with a Colt Peacemaker is another. But I can't think of one specific gun that stands out as being cool all by itself.

A suppressor attached makes anything and everything look "cool". IMO
That being said, 1911/Hi Powers reign supreme in Gato's super badass land of badassery.

I'd have to say it's the two I own:
The Mauser HSc & S&W 625 Mountain Gun. Either will do.

Hard to say, there's a lotta cool handguns. But my Uberti Walker is pretty awesome in it's own right. Just something cool about a handgun that feels like it should be on wheels.

A full auto Glock is way cooler than an H&K Mark 23 (though the silencer does earn it some extra points), and some garish looking gold plated Desert Eagle in .50AE.
And a Beretta Model 93R is way cooler than a Glock 18.

![]() ![]() ![]() The only one I'd own would be the Desert Eagle, but I'd have the gold removed and refinish in satin nickel or BHC. I do miss my BHC .50, impractical as it was. G18 and Mk 23 are gamer fantasy guns. G18 is just a bullet hose, the Mk 23 is the most ridiculously over-sized and over-priced polymer .45 EVER. Having played with them, I'll take pretty much any other ~$600 polymer pistol over the Mk 23.

Glock? Desert Eagle? Seriously? Cool is an open-slide Beretta, like a 70 series or even a 92. NOT the blocky PX4, however!

I think some of the more obscure S&W revolvers are pretty cool. Like the "Blood Work" gun and the lightweight version as well. The Smith 296 is so darn cool I dont know why everyone is not wanting one. The Taurus 450 titanium snubby is way cool even if it is made by a second tier company.
The list goes on but cool means a variety of things. For instance, I dont agree with any of the OPs picks. They are just kind of "blah" to me. I do agree with the HK P7 though.
